Looking forward to more of the Jokaero. I had no knowledge of the random tables for Jokaero in RT despite owning one since it was first published Thanks for that and in return I probably have a few lasguns from IG figures in the bits box you can have. How many do you need?

i need to get some more chimpanzee figures. i'm aware eureka uk and north star models both have a pack in the uk, are there any other you can suggest?
i'm also on the look out for a couple of lasguns, a plasma gun and a shuriken catapult, and maybe a flamer (though i may be able to knock one of those up myself), preferably of rogue trader aesthetic, if anyone had any leads.

got this batch painted - i've painted the base rims since taking the photo's, along with another couple of wonkay miniatures starschlock (scouter) bots.



sorry, the photo's aren't great, but hopefully you can make them out well enough to get the idea.



now to decide which individuals to work on next.

just the one, as this is a conversion of one of the unarmed and unequipped jokaero i painted and posted in 2019.



here's a photo. of the four so far, in the hopes that it will be clearer than the last attempt.



the eagle-eyed amongst you will note i have added a visor to the powerboard rider.
more chimps have arrived along with some weapons courtesy of inchmurrin, so we'll see how i manage to get on bodging together the rest of the group.

i haven't managed to source a rogue trader plasma gun, so went with this more modern one.



the youngster has a weapon from foundry street violence rammage, doing duty as a needle pistol. they don't seem to do rammage anymore, sadly.



i'll add a few tufts to the base.
i'm still after a shuriken catapult, but have plans to bodge one up, if my search is unsuccessful.

^Given jokaero miniaturization skills I should think you could take a modern plasma pistol, dress it up a bit, and call it a heavy plasma gun. (with no encumbrance or move/fire penalty, of course.)

it's a bit of a shame, and a surprise, that although rogue trader included rules for jokaero making new things out of old, it said nothing about their creation of digital weapons. rules can be bodged, of course.

here're are the next couple. no rhyme or reason to how many i'm attempting at a time at the moment. the last one (or two, depending on perspective) with the plasma gun (and needle pistol) was a new, pristine figure, as is the one with flight pack below, whereas the autogun armed chap was already painted in unmodified form.



i didn't make any changes to the sculpt for the painted one, just added more equipment and painted that separately. his duplicate got a head swap and had his hand opened up to accept the missile launcher.
the flying one has a lasgun, kindly provided by inchmurrin.



i'm now half way through in terms of figures to paint (7 of 14), and just over half way in terms of individuals in the group (8 of 15). as such i thought i'd indulge in a photo. of the jokaero so far.



the blanket roll (cameleoline cloak) is from scotia grendal, as is most of the belt equipment on all the figures supplemented here and there with some frostgrave plastic.
hope you can see them okay, and enjoy them.

i'm now about two thirds of the way through this group (9 of 14 or 10 of 15, depending on how you choose to measure it), excluding possible transport options.

i'm very happy with this conversion, i think it really looks as though she means business.



if anyone has a shuriken catapult they're willing to see used in this project, now is about the final chance to let me know. i could also still do with a rogue trader flamer, the one i got from inchmurrin is just too chunky for these figures.

They look great!

I've got few sprues of newer Guardians ( Box is modern but I think those plastic sprues are from 3rd edition ) but I don't think that's the shuriken catapults that you're looking for.

ideally i'd like one that looks like the illustration in the rogue trader rulebook, and as seen on the first iteration of eldar.



it can be seen most clearly on gaedhil quickshadow, but i'd settle for the second design iteration if needs be.



size is an important consideration. i don't know the extent of scale creep for later editions.

Really don't know about scales but I do have 2nd edition Farseer somewhere. Can't remember does it got his shooter since it's damaged. Will have a look.

here's my attempt to sculpt a flamer for (probably) the next jokaero.



i'll try to neaten it up a bit more before incorporating it, but hopefully it will look passable with some paint splashed on.
i'm not doing so well with the shuriken catapult. i'm going to change tack and have a go with plasti-card rather than milliput for the next attempt.
