Thanks for comments, guys.

For today, I have some minis for a Heroquest campaign currently running in my gaming group :

- my barbarian (not a GW one, but a Hasslefree mini) :

- the elf (old Skarloc, a very cool mini, and nice to paint too) :

Not really OldHammer for the whole lot, but you can expect some old wood elves soon (and maybe a some halfling stuff...)

Nice, they're all great - but you really did a fine job on that Skarloc's champ! And the barbarian too, I think that's actually my favourite of the lot.

Thanks for comments, guys.
For today, just a little update on both may Wood Elves and Bretonnian armies, as I'm working on more recent minis for 40k (a vostroyan army for commission) and on some other range (Infinity, both for commission and myself).

First, the bretonnian foot knights :

Then the wood elves :

More to come for those 2 armies, as I have more elves bowmen, dryads, hawks and eagles, and some more bretonnian knights to paint...
And more pics on my blog...

Thanks guys !

For today, I will post you pics of some Wood Elves oldies (WIP), and my eagle (a plastic one, from the current GW "The Hobbit" range, but I like this mini) :

I've painted more minis, but as they are for Infinity or for FW (a Blood Angel contemptor dread) I will not post them here.
But if you want to see them, you can go on my blog ! ;)

I just want to say how jealous I am off the freehand on those shields, gorgeous!

It's all looking really excellent. I particularly like the stripy shirt on the halfling. :)

Those elves are tasty indeed! It's a fine colour scheme for them. I think the knight on the top right reminds me of Brave Sir Robin with his posing and how the eyes came out

For today, some old minis, from the 90s ranges, with Skaw and a knight panther standard bearer :

And not exactly "OldHammer" stuff, but a full metal army, some vostroyan IG army I'm currently painting for commission :

Thanks for comment, Nico.
From a great painter and OldHammer fan as you, it's really cool.

How many points/miniatures you have?
I will play with the V8 rules and army book, as my gaming group doesn't want to play older versions (but we have decided not to play with v9 and any newer version...)

At the moment, I have :

- spellsinger on foot (plastic conversion)
- spellsinger on horse (V5 version)
- spellweaver/Ariel (Raging Heroes model)
- Glam and Skaw (used as shadowdancers with the new army book)
- glade captain (plastic model)
- 2x10 bowmen with full command (mainly Skarloc's one, with a few other models)
- 26 dryads (V5 version)
- 2x treemen (V5 version)
- 3x waywatchers (V5 version)
- 5x warhawk riders (V5 version)
- 2 eagles (plastic models from "The Hobbit" GW range).

I'm currently planning to get some plastic models (new treeman, some Kurnous Wild Riders), and more metal goodness (I'm waiting for Orion, and I need more bowmen, and certainly an eternal guard unit made from V5 metal spearmen).

The goal is to field a fully painted WE army for our next campaign, wich start in september.

I'm still super jealous of your bright and clean paint work. I've just ordered some ex-citadel foundry medieval sculpts and hope that I can do them justice.

Hi everybody,

I'm back after a long time, due to lack of motivation, but mainly because I was painting a large amount of minis for Infinity.
But I've begun to work again on my wood elves, as I must prepare my army for an incoming campaign starting in septembre with my gaming group.

I've started to paint my eternal guard unit.

For the minis, I've decided to use the old WE spearmen with metal shields from the dark age range of Gripping Beast.
All the shields will be hand painted, and I want to keep the celtic / dark age look of the army, as it fits very well with my own vision of the WE (not as civilized as DE or HE, but not the savages ones sculpted by GW).

Expect more to come, as the spearmen unit will be 30 elves strong, and I have more to paint in the coming days (warhawks, waywatchers, more bowmen, riders,...)

Thanks for comments, Nico.

You use tufts for basing now?
Yes, for all my wood elves, for my brets (flower tufts), for my imperial guard, and even for some of my minis for Infinity.
A buy them at MiniSocles. Dimitri is very nice, very professional, and he has a lot of things for basing.
Take a look at his store, I think you'll find many cool things...

After a long break due (I was working on my house), I'm back at painting.

And for you, here are my "pointy eared" oldies !

First, wood elves :
- first, some treekins, made using the old treemen minis :

- and my wardancers on their homemade movement trays :

And then, another old mini found in the bottom of a box : a repeater bolt thrower. Very fun to paint, but with a big problem : now I want more old elves to go with it !!

Very good pics and models as usual !! Elfs from 80's are particulary nice to paint, Heroes and horsemen are the best models for my own opinion.
