Re: bretonnian oldies
Thanks for comments, guys.
@Harry :
I have a spare of this mini but with a different head.
Yours if you want him.
your a bad, bad man !
Just as I'm trying not to start another army, you are tempting me with a citadel barbarian !!
Thanks for the proposition. I will add some minis in the marketplace in the coming days, so if you want something, I will trade for this mini.
For the moment, I'm not decided on my next Warhammer project. The only thing I'm sure, is that it will be an Oldhammer one, but I must decide me between chaos/barbarians, wood elves or beastmen...
@Mister Rab :
Do you have any tips (other than "have some artistic ability", because I don't really
) for those stunning heraldic beasts. I demand a shield tutorial!
As some friends of mine have asked the same, I will do one in the coming days...
I'm not so good at freehands, and the heraldic beasts are just decals, varnished and repainted in the right color.
For a shield with an heraldic beast (for example the yellow pegasus on blue/green shield), my method is :
- paint the base colors (dark green and dark blue)
- thin coat of gloss varnish
- once dry, put the decal in its place
- thin coat of gloss varnish
- add 1 or more thin coat of matt varnish until the whole shield is really matt.
At this time, if done properly, you don't see ti's a decal anymore.
Then you can paint the shield as normal. I highlight the green part with lighter green, the blue with lighter blue, and repaint the whole pegasus in yellow (darkened with a leather color and highlight it with ivory). Then comes the difficult part : blacklining between the different colors, with a thin pencil and a little watered down black plaint.
I hope you've understood, but I will try to make a tuto with pics to explain the method with examples.
