I've been very busy for the last week, but I've found some time to paint and finish some minis :

- the barbarians of Heyer are now done

- and the first 5 wood elves bowmen are done too :

Love those elves :)
I must pass the pic on as inspiration for my friend's elf war band for our Saga games

Agreed...the subdued colors
For the wood elfs is a fantastic choice...none of that "in your face green" that so many folks choose.

Cheers,

Thanks for comments, guys.
I really enjoy those old minis (even if the whole army will field some plastic "newhammer units").

And here are some new minis for my army :
- 10 wardancers (I still have 2 more to paint, but I think I will convert them) :

- 3 waywatchers (I need to pick up 3 more to complete the unit) :

- 3 more bowmen :

And the whole bowmen unit (I have 4 more coming, with a battle standard) :

For those interested, more pics on my blog...

Astonishing! I don't think I've ever seen those Wardancers ever painted so well. The red striped trousers look particularly good.

Thanks for sharing!

Stunning! :)
I love the redheaded wardancers and the triskele is beautifully painted.
I'm going to have to try painting in more natural dye colours like this, it really works beautifully

I wish you a happy new year !
Thanks for comments, guys. I haven't done much painting during the last month, but I've found some time to paint a few elves minis :

First is a plastic (no, don't run away or throw things at me ! ) dark elf sorceress, slightly converted and painted to fit my wood elf army. I wanted to paint this mini since it was released, it's now done and I can paint more lead ! ^^

And then, you have my first dryad. This mini was a test for the rest of the wood spirits (treeman, dryads,...) and I really happy with the result : simple to repeat and not time consuming due to massive use of bronw and green inks.

Coming soon : more elf bowmen, and maybe some bretonnian foot knights too...
For those who want to see more, just take a look at my blog.

Splendid indeed! I really love how you turned her into something else. I would have changed the crown by adding some GS bits here and there to make it look like a wooden crown and to break the angular aspect a bit but apart from that, the painting is brilliant !
The dryad is great too, your technique seems really time-efficient and the result is great, what' not to like? 8-) The touches of flockage are really well done, just enough and not too much. Do you have WIP shots to show the step "à tout hasard" ?

I like the She-elf although she seems to be suffering from a bad cold - I guess with her skimpy outfit there is no place for a handkerchief.

Seriously though she looks great. In upcycling of the dark elf sorceress you have made her seem a little less ham acted than when in dark elf formation. This is to be commended. Dryad is also nice I like his leaf-afro and wooden pants suit ;) .

I have me the same, but finally, I was to hurry to paint this mini that I leave the crown like the original. And I always can say it's a magical crown ! ^^

No, but yesterday, 4 more dryads arrived at home, so I will make a little tutorial (it was asked by other persons on other forums).

what brand inks do you use?
I use the GW range : agrax earthshade, thraka green and nuln oïl.
As said, I will do a tuto in the coming days...

That elf model really is great. They can do some neat things with plastics these days.

Nicely done

I've taken pics during painting, so expect the asked step to step soon !

Great work, I like these Minis very much. Some of my first WFB minis.

Still have quite a few, stripped and ready to paint them, for years... :?
