A slowly growing Waaagh!

For those not too familiar with the mini, i slightly altered it (i own quite a few originals and hope to paint an unmodified one to go on Polly the wyvern, i.e. the viper-resembling one from ~1987): beside the obvious weapon replacement, i added a pair of goblin noses to the shoulder pad and the hemet visor (using my tested method involving rose thorns) and extended said visor in order to give the mini a more gloomy/enigmatic appearance, just like the wraith in the inspiring artwork.
In my quest to stick as much as reasonably possible to that image, i even bent slightly the feet to simulate their stance in the stirrups.

Ahahah...you're exagerating its merits
But if you want...here it is with a thinner halberd tip, more in line with the artwork (the pic's finish is dusty...new phone, new camera, same tech-impaired photographer)

And the shield, ready to be fixed to the arm as soon as I'll get a new drill bit

Wonderful work on rider and mount and the background to the inspiration was fascinating. I am now inspired to restart on my orcs , thank you for that.

Gosh, those leather textures are something to behold. I think you've managed to get an awesome richness to the darker parts of the leather and the scratches finish the look.

In the above saddle pics you can see a "skin remnant" which will serve as saddlepad: you can't see it, but I managed to give it a convincing texture just pressing it against the back of my hand...i think I'll use the same technique to make rough banners in the future

This is just jaw dropping. The amount of detail is truly stunning and that leather my god I would put money on it being real worn leather its that good !!!

lovely work on that scabbard binding. must be fiddly.
thanks for noticing
I used a piece of 3mm wide masking tape, attached it to my painting desk, cut it in half lengthwise and started adding light and dark colours on the 2 sides with opposing paint strokes...the hardest part was attaching it to the scabbard, really
