The extra detail you paint on theses models is amazing (those feet!). Simply amazing. What else can I say, but I think they are stunning. The subtle rusty armour particularly adds to the orcy feel. Besides all that you get extra points for a hex base! :)

Thank you so much for your appreciation, it really means a lot 8-) .
I must say I LOVE hex bases...ever since I saw the first Talisman minis ad they felt special to me.
Since yesterday I've been in two minds about the thought of going on in the plan of making a scenic triple base, but then, if it'll end up looking as good ad I hope...
Anyway, at the same time I'll start a new BIG (not that much in size, but in complexity) project, which I hope to offer you a glimpse of in a few weeks ;)

Hi Tex,
It's a pleasure to read you again and see your new masterpiece. As you know, we've always been admirers of how you manage to combine extremely fine workmanship in both the skin and the metal parts of your greenskins. And also this time you did not disappoint. Congratulations!
We look forward to seeing what you come up with for the triple base, as in the past you have managed to create an original and highly detailed environment that enhances your miniatures.

Hi, Rodor!
Thanks for your usual kind words! The base is under way, but the moss-sticking process is so tedious (the base is quite large and tall) that I find myself switching between that and working on the new (quite exciting) project
A couple of early WIPs for you to (hopefully) enjoy:

In the first one you can see the composition I've in mind, with other 2 orcs from the same rare-ish range as the man-catcher.

I see from your blog that you've been in Monte S. Savino...I was there with my wife, as well: what a pity not to have met! Next time...

Thanks a lot for the anticipation of your work in progress. We must say that your idea of placing Kev Adams' old orcs in a wooded environment with enormous roots is very fascinating, and it brings these creatures back to a "fairy-tale" dimension that their folklore predecessors had, from which the creatures of the modern fantasy universe were conceived. If for your orc archer surrounded by birds we had recalled the atmosphere of Snow White, here some paintings by Paul Bonner came to mind, with the imposing trees and the steep terrain. And it is Kev Adams himself, if we're not mistaken, who revealed that sometimes the ivy leaves at sunset had been the inspiration for the faces of his greenskins...
Next time we will certainly see you in Monte San Savino: it will be a pleasure to meet you.

That tree is straight out of an proper fantasy painting, grotesque fairytale wonderment! Awesome stuff. Can't wait to see the finished piece.

Many thanks for your appreciation! I'm currently alternating between working on the base (quite tedious, at the moment, because of the enormous quantity - and chromatic variety - of moss needed) and on the new project, which I leave a couple of glimpses of ;)

This is the '80s fellbeast's head with 5mm removed and a pair of horns added (just one here): I simply adore the design (less so the pose) of that beast, but I needed something smaller for the conversion work I've planned

And here is the rider from the classic orc wyvern set, with his weapon replaced for...reasons ;)
