The grand army of King Bruno the Questionable (Bretonnia)

I've got some of that texture mud stuff to slap on the bases, but I'm gonna torture myself and base the army in one go, that way I can't change my mind half way through. Now I'm actually questioning myself on how I want to base everything. Dammit.

I'll sleep on it for a few days, was gonna pop into the local hobby shop on Friday so I can grab any basing materials I need when I'm there. Also need to look at stuff for making trees, can never have too many trees.

You did not ask, but I will tell you anyway

I use this stuff:

Apply with a brush and you are good.

However, I see that you have models with cast on integral bases.
In this situation to hide the bases I build up around them so that they do not look stepped.

I used to use miliput or green stuff.
But then being lazy and cheap, I discovered that you can build up the base using plasticine and harden it with a coat of superglue.
It does not properly harden as clay would, but once you have added the above sand gel it is more than adequate.

Plasticine base (though just a crude mock up for this post)

Then once done, you can't see the integral base at all.

The gel and cheap knock off plasticine are all available at HobbyCraft.

Food for thought if you had not already considered it, and if so then apologies.

Oh my mates outta hospital now so back to dog walking, took some photos for scenery motivation/inspiration this morning. The doggo has one braincell and I think that's broken, she's so dumb, and scared of her own shadow.

Vallejo dark earth for my 40k and undead and Vallejo Russian Mud for my orcs and chaos. Those are my current base, err, basing, bits. Generally after mini is painted, but that's because I generally don't base my minis prior to painting.

Ended up grabbing some woodland scenics coarse turf today, not sure if I'm gonna use it but I like the shade (I got dark green) so it came home with me. Got my 4th ed magic cards and box of knights back today as well, so I can start learning 4th ed now.
