Well credit where credit is due as they say. The auction house very kindly got in touch with the seller who said it was fine to email them, so I've exchanged a few lovely emails with the seller and painter of "my" (feels weird saying that when I didn't paint them) Eldar.
Anyhow they were painted by a talented chap called Robin Ewbank, who from our emails looks to have had a similar baptism in the fires of Wargaming as many of us had in our youths in that classic 80s/90s bit of GW history, before life got in the way a bit much and he drifted away from the hobby. Anyhow Robin's other claim to fame beyond painting some rather lovely Eldar was having one of his Golden Demon entries featured in White Dwarf (162 if you want to go and rummage). This rather nice Chaos Space Marine
And a newer photo Robin took for me the other day, since how could you part with a model you'd had featured!
Lovely work.
It's been really nice chatting with Robin so I shall endeavour to do him proud with my additions to the Eldar I now have in my stewardship! Of course when that might be I can't say ... when I have a sudden urge to paint Eldar I guess! Watch the WIP thread for updates!
Right I promise I'll post something I've painted next!
