Some random pre-slotta miniatures

A couple more pieces finished. Another Oakbound studio's monster sculpt, and a Citadel targeter. I didn't do much work in the targeter I just repaired the paint job it already had.

It was one of his earlier pieces, so he may have changed his idea of a Kelpie.

I haven't but there's a bit of a story to where this one came from.
When I was making my Fimir army I decided I wanted Kelpies in there. To my mind they had horses' heads and necks and could pass as such when largely submerged. When the traveller passed by and attempted to rescue the steed they would charge out of the bog with their long, grasping arms and pull the hapless venturer in. Kinda trollish, kinda Nuckelavee in form.

When I started sculpting them for Oakbound it was the difficult toss up between fitting my own concept and doing something that could be used by generic fantasy players, hence giving them a more skull-ish, daemonic look. If I redid them again now (as I ought to) they'd be more horsey but still long and grasping.

Well if you were to resculpt them, I would definitely add them to my lead mountain. Thanks for sharing the thought process behind the sculpt. I do like to learn a bit about the design process.

Thanks. I am cracking the minis out at a far rate these days. Today, I finished another of the C-series villagers. The poacher.

Okay! This is definitely a thread worth a read. Love the actor and the cleric. The poacher is great fun. Lots of C-series fun. And a conversation about kelpies! Excellent stuff!

June has been a bit work heavy but I have managed to finish a pair of Mordheim figures. They will serve as the Canary brothers, two ne'er-do-wells in my games. They are man giants compared to my older figures.

Thanks for the explanation and count me in for a couple if you do resculpt a bit smaller scale than the ones outside Falkirk please!
