I think that you are right - parts that may get knocked need the the bolt and braces approach so arms, weapons etc may need pinning but I wouldn't expect a humanoid mini to be picked up by the head so it should be ok with just glue.whiskey priest":2zhf113o said:I should do shouldn't I? I have to admit to being a bit pragmatic about that kind of thing. If the part glues together then cool, if it's being a pig and doesn't want to stay or if it's flimsy then I'll pin it.

Not sure I can stretch to the want list of a spell casting, armour wearing retainer Colin, I think the other players may call foul. He dose look jolly nice though.

To be honest, I'm happy for the game to have unbalanced heroes. Consider the competition in LotR between Legolas and Gimli. Legolas is clearly superior in his accomplishments, so Gimli balances it in his mind; "that only counts as one!" as the mûmak tumbles.
As long as the group are pitted against a challenging but realistically surmountable foe as a whole, individual strength is not too important. (Yes I am aware that I'm taking an Elf, but the theory is still valid!)
