CVB's Heroquest/Dungeon Crawl

Chaz Elliott did (according to SOL), though I can't recall any other of his models... worst thing of all is that I've never been able to trace any rule for them (this should not be a problem for a HQ use).

I painted the face on his shoulder as a sort of homage to the one on my Space Crusade Chaos Commander

OK, I notice the wash on the blade and I like it ! I didn't say th efirst time but I like how you treated the eyes, they look genuinely animal and nearly hypnotical.

I also notice a blue bottle (mana potion then, so our snakeman here is somehow a magic-user), and a pink bottle (since its neither a red health potion nor a green stamina potion), I assume the pink bottle is for certain erectile issues since a snakeman has to stand on its tail all the time.

We played Heroquest today with me as the evil wizard GM type fella...managed to wipe out half the pesky heroes in the first game so job well done I reckon :D

I wasn't keen on doing a classic/orlygg style freehand shield, just a very basic job.
It's meant to symbolise the god of the four winds.

I got this Chaos Chappy from Blue, I'm not too happy with how the shield emblem worked out up close...I'm off to read some blogs on how it is done properly.

That used to be a catchphrase between my brother and me, I can't hear this without wetting my pants now, thanks brother, you nailed the character perfectly B).

The female wizard looks absolutely great with red hair and green eyes, you really got the charm out of the sculpt. One of my favorites in your collection so far. By the way, if anyone has a spare I'm looking for one (the rosster knight needs a lady you know...).
Some very great work here, I'm looking forward to seeing an in-game shot and why not some bat rep?
 
Thanks man, the gypsy is a really nice mini indeed, but I looking at it now I think the flesh on her face isn't quite right yet :|

Haha, that bit of dialogue popped into my head when I was looking at the blank shield-tres amuse!

Have you (or anybody) listened to the audio commentary of the movie with Arnie and John Milius?

It's (unintentionally) hilarious at times, as Milius is telling (us the audience) details about the film like "this scene was filmed in bla bla and it's actually a miniature set in front of a matte painting etc" and Arnold keeps saying "YEAH, I KNOW" like he sort of doesn't get it that the guy is talking for the benefit of the audience :lol:
 
The commentary to the Conan the Barbarian movie is unintentionally hilarious. I have watched it manytimes over the years. It's almost better than the movie.

I'd love to do a movie style Thulsa Doom (and his luitenants) but I haven't seen the right mini(s) yet...

Great thread! Im rooting for you to get the whole set finished. Do Space Crusade next please :)

Slightly OT, but Arnie & Verhoevens commentary o ln Total Recall is worth a listen too. Its not as funny as I heard the Conan commentary is, but Arnies lack of interest in anything that doesnt directly comcern him is palpable.

The HQ set must be nearly fully do e now, right? How many minis left?
 
Great, I've gotta check out Total Recall out ASAP :D

The main set is finished, sort of- technically I need to do the 4 proper chaos warriors (I used WHFB), a skeleton and the chaos sorcerer (not as Skeletor)...
I have the Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord expansions too (just more undead, greenskins and fimir) but I've promised myself stuff like the Night Gobbos are coming first.
There will be more character pieces in the meantime though.

As for Space Crusade, I've done nearly all the aliens and some marines from the main game (plenty more to do though) so it's definitely on my to do list as well :!:
 
Damn ! Those thief and busty princess looks really great man ! I really like te new basing too.
Superb setting and superv paintjobs. I'm liking this a lot...
