CVB's Heroquest/Dungeon Crawl

Thanks guys.
I traded my Battle For Skull Pass spider riders and troll for a bunch of Citadel Adventurers (like the Pilgrim/Rambulge)- more to come.
I thought that Thief/Rogue was pretty damn ugly until he got painted, but yeah he's ace!

I'm using my usual elysian/camo green base highlighted with bad moon yellow on the sand and a liberal dose of green wash for the bases-I'm thinking I'll give my Heroquesting minis this treatment now, but I'm not sure I have the heart to redo a hundred 40k greenskin bases this way :?

Just washing the top would make a big difference too... take some of the "GREEN!" aspect out of it. =) If you do a few at a time, every time you finish another base... maybe?

Please tell me the name of the above sucker and whether or not they have anymore they'd trade for more spider riders

Ardyer: I will go as far to tell you that he is Swedish :)

Phreedh: I've decided to do just that, I did all the dungeon crawling minis last night and will probably start the Orks tonight

Here's the first Barbarian I painted, though I've now fixed his eyes

as opposed to this

and the first Barbarian lady I did.
Her tiny little eyes gave me a lot of grief, I've finally managed to get them!
It's a "Sasha the Sword" from Mannequin miniatures, I really dig it.

Yes I wish I saw them last time they visited Denmark instead of lying drunk in some gutter... I had the ticket and all..

Anyway, the minis are awesome too. I love it!

Citadel Rogue (Rouge ;) ) and a Foundry Female Barbarian.

I've had the chance to give those a very close look and I have to say they're even better than what I thought ! The skintones are just right (far much than my own :? ) and it 's funny to see on other people's PJ's the same kind of techniques you use yourself.

I confirm the "rouge" rogue has green eyes indeed and the amazon fisher is absolutely gorgeous. I'll try to take some pics of them with some new friends and hopefully, some servant of good will come rescue the poor girl from this mischievous thief...

Those two were painted and sent to France to reside in the collection of the most excellent Asslessman, as you may have gathered.

I started this Talisman Necromancer at the same time, but have only just now gotten around to finishing him
Necromancer_zpsef8f33b5.jpg

About a month or so ago I hit a miniature painting wall and also thanks to hurting my right hand/thumb I found myself concentrating on painting the rest of my heroquest furniture and making budget scenery.

I'm not sure if I'm sure on the red cloak with the yellow, what do you reckon?

I think the red and gold looks great, quite original for a necromancer. If anything I'd question the use of purple for accessories - but it's just a small gripe. I love the miniature! He kinda makes me think of Rambulge actually, might have to give him a spine club in-game, hehe...

Cheers, I think you might be right about the purple there...the gems on his tunic at the very least might get a redo.
The Chaos Sorcerer's red tunic (or whatever that is he wears) on the side of the box was what gave me the red idea and the crescent is rather moonish of course, hence the yellow.

Ha, the thought (Bulgey) crossed my mind too, though it can't beat Bari's "club"

Actually, I think my main issue with the gems is that they have no mount to seperate the purple from the red - some shiny gold would do the trick I reckon, just a thin rim. I've painted 3000pts of 4th ed. high elves so I know a thing or two about gems :s

First of all, let Rambulge alone ! I'm about to finish painting him so please let me finish him first, he has a red robe though, it's all I can tell for now...

Regarding the necromancer, I think the colours are nice but the only issue with the purple parts is that they blend in th ered. I'd advise some blacklining around the purple bits (that or th emore ambitious solution of goldrims which would look good imo) and some slight highlights with pinkish tones just to make them "stand" from the red.
OR... you can just forget about our picky sleves and go on with him as he is soince he's already more than fine.

Captain? Did the count get some necormantic reinforcements?

Too bad, I thought Bufo was going to die and that we'd have an even smellier undead version of him along us  Now let's wake Roin who's having a nap behind his door...

Oh and back on tracks with the Dungeon crawling goodness of the Count

Cheers for the thoughts guys, I've since gone green with the gems but I'll have a look at shiny gold for the rim now you mention it CC.
Fear not A-Man, that miniature you're painting is the ultimate 'bulge!

I'm about 90% done on this "Slayer" (EDIT: finished pic now shown)

Man, 1985 was a good year for Citadel Miniatures!
