Boyl 16 Rise of Morcar, or HeroQuest the battle or BFFG

Do you have "scribed" Weazil?

If yes then the Advanced Hero Quest Rule Book is on there, page 50 onwards for a few pages gives you a flavour of Praznagar

A very quick search on "scribed" also found me a book called "HeroQuest Revised Edition Quest Book v2.3" that should cover most of your questions, you should be able to read it cover to cover within 30 to 40 minutes tops.

Nice monolith!

For HQ fluff check out the five major quest books: The core set, Return of the Witch Lord, Kellar's Keep, Against the Ogre Horde and Wizards of Morcar. Should be able to find all of them online and they're not lengthy reads, I can supply scans of anything you can't find. Also check out the Marvel Winter Special which features such characters as Skulmar, one of Morcar's lieutenants, and Milnik his dwarf attendant. There's also The Frozen Horror and Mage of the Magic Mirror, but they're American quest books and don't really fit with the world.

I'll try and update the google doc now I have a good list of what I'm hoping to bring. Scenery-wise it will depend how full Harry's boot is...

Cheers Dude, this is just a photo I found on the net but the one I have is the same more or less, they're cardboard push out printed scenery from the 5th Edition "Tears of Isha" Campaign Pack.

All of the scenery in the pack looks like this.

I'm bringing (hopefully):

Bran the Blessed
1 Meargh
15 Fianna Fimm (ogre sized)
15 Armoured Fimm warriors (including a Dirach)
15 Fimm warriors with great weapons (including a Dirach)
20 Fimm warriors with hand weapons and shields
15 Fimm warriors with hand weapons
40 Shearl (Heroquest Fimir)
Slave cart
2 chariots
A Dirach coven on a warbeast
8 Kelpies (count as trolls)
6 Woldlice (haven't worked out what they are yet)
30 Female cultists
40 Male cultists
80 HQ Orc allies
40 HQ Goblin allies
25 Chaos Warrior allies (including a Chaos Sorcerer)
The 4 wizards of Morcar
Morcar (!)

Looking at the tally we might need more good guys!

Oh, and they need to be tooled up with the Spirit Blade, Borin's Armour etc.

Quickben has yet to put up his contributions. I expect that to contribute another 60 infantry, 6 to 10 cavalry and another cannon.

I haven't looked but if Erny is bringing his Empire, Wood Elves, High/Sea Elves and Dwarves then there should be plenty of good guys.

If I have time I'll bring the Man at Arms/Dark Company minis from Wizards of Morcar/Advanced Quest and AHQ, but that's a big IF at this point!

Cheers for the update - Snickit - that scenery looks good. To confirm - are you saying you have ALL the cardboard scenery from the Tears of Isha set? Including that church thing?

Regarding the massive discrepancy between the good guys and the bad - don't worry about trying to make it a fair fight. Real battles never are and the numbers shouldn't be too telling a factor. I have plans around this already. I would recommend at this stage that if its not painted by now, don't worry about it - there's not point trying to compensate for the scale on one side or the other. If you're aching for hobby activity, focus on the scenery you think will make the game look good, or on movement trays - there are a lot of soldiers so it would be a really good idea to make sure that you have some that are fit for the game (i.e. painted and based - not just some arbitrary bit of cardboard or a CD cover...)

Also - thanks for updating the list, Fimm that's a goodly list of items you have.

Finally, I'll see what I can find about these characters, but the point that you're not all leaping at having these characters somehow imbedded in your armies has me raising questions about them? Are they really that important then? I'm not asking because I'm trying to dismiss them - rather, I'm challenging you all to start naming them and shaping them as useful figures in an army - even if they don't necessarily end up that way as a result of the narrative that I try to set up.

Yup, I have it all. The monastery looking thing is supposed to be a High Elf Mansion but the scale is terrible. The tower s crap too but the Gale Force 9 one is have is awesome as are the pillars.

Praznagar, Prince of Agony, Daemon Gemeral of the Horned Rat, is aiding the underlings of Morcar, to bring about the return of Morcar and the end of the civilised world as we know it so that the Skaven can inherit the decaying remains, which is basically the end game of all Skaven plans.

There aren't any named Fimir in the heroquest lore, but the four wizards of Morcar are named and in my force (not necessarily controlled by me mind!). As to movement trays, they're well underway. If anyone would like me to make them some I can do so very easily with the power of lasers. I am planning to make the HQ models' trays look like ruined buildings so the stone slab bases don't look out of place. Oh, and I'll try and make sure my Barrow, stone circle and magical stone carving come- if space allows. Do we know what the surface of the table will look like?

We are on one of the 12x6 tables which are covered in grey cloth. I'll be bringing my hills, a village including windmill, crop fields, roads, trees incluiding three of ther big Britains trees to go with the village, a large rock with cave and a couple of smaller boulders erratics or torrs whatever also my green cloths. A I think we are short on hills books under the cloths may well be a possibility. I had planned on making a big, high flat hill for the summoning but I'm not sure if our new car has enough boot space.

Bigger table needed not more scenery.

Really? 12x6 seems big enough to me, for a 1-day bash anyhow, and a table that size needs a decent amount of scenery or no matter how nice the models it will look boring (and be pretty dull to play on).

A table 6' wide is just about usable, at 6' tall I'm above average height and can just about reach the miniatures in the center of the table. And 12' long is a great deal of space.

The thing I'm most worried about is giving the battle field height. Golgfags biggest mammoth is likely to be the tallest thing on the table.

Not big at all when you look at the amount of models that are coming, the model foot print is massive its only like having 3 small games on 6x4 tables.
