Bood Miniature Dwarf Project

Painted up a few more and also been working on more crossbowmen. The bold headed dwarf is by far the most challenging greenstuff I've ever tried but I'm hoping it will look good when completed and painted up.

Looks better than anything I have ever achieved :) I bet it will not be noticable as a conversion once painted among the rest.

Painted them up and now got a nice 10 dwarf unit. Really happy with the outcome especially when you consider they all came from only 3 original sculpts.

I recently found an old Bood Pony that I was halfway through converting and decided to use it to test my sculpting skills. It was missing all its legs and its tail so I was unsure if I would be able to finish it but luckily I was able to do a decent enough job that once painted you can hardly tell the difference.

As with previous dwarf cavalry I wanted to give the impression of movement and happy with the look and feel I was able to get in to the model.

So way back when I first started this Bood Dwarf army I was always trying to find a nice two handed weapon I could use. Back then I ended up with a Dane axe type weapon I made from a piece of plastic rod and an axe head from some manufacturer but was never really happy and was always looking for a nice alternative (you can see some examples on a previous page). Anyway fast forward to a couple of days ago when I came across a model on Instagram and a reference to Fireforge weapon packs, a quick look and then a visit to ebay and I had a pack of Bardiche weapons heading my way. They turned up today and couldn't resist taking a few of my older models removing the axes and having a little play around. I really like the look but would be interested in others opinions. They may be slightly big for dwarfs ?

Sorry, ManicMan, but if these are supposed to be axes, I indeed would say they are too big, even for double handed ones.

They look good on the models though, if you call them halberds, in my opinion.

It's fantasy, man. And most of the Citadel weapons were ridiculously massive anyway. I think those polearms look the business myself.

Oh, these just keep getting better and better. I love the resculpted nose of the fellow on the pony and the bald headed fellow looks especially nice plainted up. Great work! And they look absolutely lovely as an army.
