Just a quick little update of the next four conversions. If my maths are correct I've only got 28 more to convert !

I'm starting to get hang of greenstuffing new noses and beards, my main problem is the removing of the originals as I'm doing it with a scalpel blade and can take a long time and I normally end up with a nice collection of cuts on my fingers ! Bottom right had his helmet removed and I've tried to make a mail coif but struggled to create a nice mail effect so something I'm going to have to work on.

Hard to tell from photo but only need 4 more to complete the hand weapon unit but still a long way to go on the other 2 ! and then still got the cavalry and then the crossbowmen and then... well you get the picture LOL

Lovely blend of minis and subtle conversions, and the uniform choice brings them all together - this is oldhammer - none of that oversized hands, feet and weapons nonsense - these guys mean business

Completed my first unit and really happy with the look of them. There's a uniformity to the unit and at the same time each dwarf has a unique look. They also work really well with the classic dwarf command group

Photos are up to my normal standard but will try at some point to get some better ones taken

So painted up some of my dwarf cavalry. All have been converted to make them appear to be running and also greenstuffed the dwarf heads to give them some nice helmets. These will eventually turn into 2 units of 5, one will be knights and the other more like squires. That's why first 2 have the army heraldry (squires) whereas the other3 (knights) have their own heraldry and helmets.

Lovely dwarves, more great stuff. Your conversions are very effective and I like the knights and squires differentiation.

More face conversions, I'm slowly working my way through the rest of the infantry models so i can start batch painting them to complete the units. Photo shows original version on left and then my 4 new versions.

Those units are great!
The colors are right on the spot with very natural looking bases.

They have that very "Tolkien" kind of feeling, I hope their are more coming!

Another quick update to show the next batch of faces. As before first is original then my converted versions.

Looking I can now see the facemask needs some work as nose brace looks rather wonky at moment !!!

Was planning on converting all the models I need to complete my units, but just couldn't resist painting up the ones I've already done. All still WIP but really liking the outcome of my converting to create more unique figures.

Once these are painted I will get back to more converting and then it will just be a case of giving them weapon arms.

Firstly Happy New Year to everyone.

Managed to paint up the rest of the dwarfs they will just need weapon arms and shields at a later point. In the mean time I've started work on my most ambitious conversion which may of may not work LOL.

And here's the new conversion I'm working on. The picture shows the original and what I've been left with after removing what I didn't need

Still a way to go but happy so far. Must admit I've struggled to get the helmet to look right and its not perfect but probably the best I can get it.
