World Building

Thanks all, I'm rather chuffed with how it came out. I've a few other bits of graveyard to do one day with the rest of my Tabletop World bits and pieces.

Finally caught up.
It is a properly nice topic/thread/post, it cheers me up to look at some of them.
The graveyard on the hill and the bigger pond are just lovely.

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm wondering what to tackle next, though the Dwarf fort/outpost needs finishing up first. Wondering about doing my woods next ... I've a reasonable collection of trees that need basing up and a small roadside shrine that is primed and waiting some attention.

oooh I am just finishing the first of my little wood bases.
Quite small just three trees on it.
I worry about the balance between diorama and playable terrain...

I also need to base my roadside shrine.

Though I am also doing a cropfield from a coir mat, seems like a must have.

Whatever you do I am sure it will be vey nice.

Yes I must do some crop fields one day. I've decided I'll do more diorama style tree bases - these ones are classic bog brush trees. I've acquired quite a few over the years.

Thank you. Maybe when this kickstarter sends out the A3 backdrop books I'll break out the camera, lights and have another session! Seeing all the lovely terrain at BOYL has rekindled a desire to get some more painting done, now I just need to figure out how to add a few extra hours to each day!

Let me know if you have any spare for sale/trade.
Will do. I've certainly got some that I probably won't be using (although those are not actual K&M ones)

Been a bit quiet on the terrain front for a while, but I have just finished up the Dwarf fort from the "hard foam" Citadel range, I remember the range, but didn't get any at the time. I forget quite when it came out, late 90s I'd have thought, anyone remember? Anyhow after a bit of patching up and repair the poor thing languished for a while with its base coat. I then somewhat spoiled the paint job by using too a black wash that was probably a little too opaque. Still it came out okay in the end and with some greenery looks decent.

I thought I'd add some trees in as they somehow made it feel more part of something larger. The trees being rather well defined do have a slight Christmas cake/model vibe, but in it's own way that's quite charming! I think taking inspiration from Fimm's recent gaming session I might try to do a few small mountain bits to go alongside and perhaps be used for ambush in the valley type games. I have sketches for a large Dwarf fortress I was going to make (not that I have more than a handful of Dwarves), but maybe some small mock mountains might be more achievable!

You're all too sweet, some credit really has to go to Tabletop World since the buildings are their creation - I just arranged them! :)

I do love the TW buildings (and have spent far too much on it over the years), although I'm still to be sold on the recent switch to 3D printing as the few pieces I have (small items) from them that are 3D printed do have some layer lines and less sharp detail than resin casting (although even with the resin there are a few flaws on later pieces I guess as they ramped up production, I do mean only the odd air bubble or tiny seam, but my earliest bits are totally pristine. Which if you've bought resin stuff can be a bit of a novelty!)
