[WIP] Building of Ruins of Mordheim modular table

nice work as the others. for some reason I wanna comment "Shame it's not a working clock" but that's just being a bit stupid ^_^
Thanks, I'll think about this clock again. ;)
... which strikes thirteen.
This is quite a good idea!
god, that just reminded me.. When I was a kid, one book we read at School was Tom's Midnight Garden by Philippa Pearce. which, when the Grandfather clock stuck 13, a door opens and he can visit a beautiful garden. As I did more back then, I made a board game based on it which the board was cut into two sections, the 'house' and the 'garden'. you went around the house area and could draw a card which would set a time on the clock. When it struck 13, the card model of the clock would not only have the hands moved, but you opened it up to make the door into the garden section.. Basic game but fun.. god knows what happened to it. probably got wrecked and lost years ago as it was kinda a quick-ish thing back in.. mm.. gonna have to say mid to late 90s.. 1997 is about right..
Great story! :)
A bit of a side discussion here, but you have been working on this project for so long. I was wondering, do you still enjoy the building process as much as in the beginning? Would you say the experience gained opened your creativity and confidance to try things you did not think possible when you started? I imagine that the idea of having each building unique must be quite a challenge and a motivator! Oh and are you really from Poland? Because if you had happen to be closer to Canada I would have certainly offered you to help with a session of batch painting the base colors ;)
Thank you very much. :)

Yes, I still enjoy building as much, but maybe that's because I still don't have time for it - because I still need to paint the miniatures, recently I painted Nippon for Warheim FS, I organized the twelfth Warheim FS tournament and I'm still working on the final rules for games.

All in all, building a table is the culmination of my modeling hobby, which I have been involved in since 2000, so here I am trying to use the experience I have already acquired, because this is another attempt. In the first unsuccessful one, I built the city of Oldenlitz, the second successful one involved building the village of Teufelsberg.

Yes, I live in Poland so it would be a long trip. ;)

Workshop: Construction of the 'Ruins of Mordheim' modular table, part 89.

Today I have for you photos of the penultimate module of the table with the ruins of Mordheim.

I ruined the model of a building depicting a granary from Lasercut Buildings and valorized it with bits from GW.

The buildings model is almost ready for painting, almost because I still miss something and I will probably add something to it in the future..

nice, as ever.
Thank you. :)

Workshop: Construction of the 'Ruins of Mordheim' modular table, part 90.

I think the time has come when I can consider the Mordheim ruins table module for Warheim FS to be adequately dense with various types of terrain elements.

One of the last sets I decided to use to complete the ruins is Realmscape Objective Set from Games Workshop, the review of which you will be able to read tomorrow HERE.

I still have an idea for a few details, including making some larger bridges connecting the modules, but the time for painting is really fast approaching.

Workshop: Construction of the 'Ruins of Mordheim' modular table, part 91

I didn't have much time for hobbies last week, as even this late post can prove.

Despite everything, I managed to tidy up the workshop in the attic a bit and created space on the floor near the desk for table modules, thanks to which I will be able to reach individual elements much easier and faster.

Before painting, I still need to add rubble and make the door and a few details.

The Rebel.pl store and Rafał came to the rescue in these plans and supported me by sending the Gamers Grass: Basing Bits - Temple and Gamers Grass: Basing Bits - Statues and Columns and GeekGaming: Base Ready - Grimdark Tomb World, as well as several paints fromAMMO by Mig, which I will definitely use on the Mordheim ruins table.

Wow, catching up on threads and what a treat. That gate looks great, very nice work and seeing all the boards laid out is a site to behold. Such an awesome project.

Thank you very much. :)

Workshop: Construction of the 'Ruins of Mordheim' modular table, part 95.

The next stage of work on the modular table with Mordheim ruins for Warheim FS is gluing doors and shutters from cut coffee sticks.

The doors in the ruins of the inn and stables have already appeared, I still need to make a few shutters..

impressive work on the shutters particularly.
Thank you. :)

Workshop: Construction of the 'Ruins of Mordheim' modular table, part 96.

I got a little carried away with the carpentry using coffee sticks and, in addition to the doors and shutters, I also made moldings inside the rooms, mangers in the stable and a few other details, including stocks.

The module goes on the shelf and waits for the next stage in which I will add some rubble and other garbage, and then paint.

Workshop: Construction of the 'Ruins of Mordheim' modular table, part 97.

On Thursday, I published an entry on the blog as part of the Miniatures Blog Carnival and presented The armed pack of the Mors clan for Warheim FS, and gluing the models took me the last few free evenings, so nothing new has appeared in connection with the mockups.

Today in the photos below you can see what the selected modules from which I built the table on which the witch hunters clashed with the Middenheim company look like.

Looking forward to seeing it with paint on.
Thank you. :)

Tutorial: Building a well, part 1.

zXJRV5.jpg

As a break from valorizing building models and as an excuse to gain some time to glue the miniatures the Raubritter from the Border Princes, I decided to build three wells.

Wells placed on different bases will be scatter terrain that can be placed, depending on needs, on various modules of the Mordheim ruins table.

For construction, I used elements collected in the workshop: clay bricks, wooden strips, a paper clip, sand, self-hardening clay, balsa wood and copper wire, and for gluing I used wood glue and cyanoacrylate glue.

***

I started building the well by drawing circles on the bases marking the boundary of the well.

For construction, I used clay bricks cut into trapezoids and glued with wood glue.

I filled the gaps between the bricks with self-hardening clay.
