A few of those were mine... and yeah I was disappointed ;)

@asslessman: Your creation is really starting to take shape. I am very surprised at the expedient progress you are able to make with the abundance of projects you show on your blog, good for you.
I am curious as to how you're planning to paint it; if there is a particular variety of fowl which features predominantly in your region? The feathering so far looks quite good, I'm sure the finished model will be incredible, especially with the magnetized options you've given yourself.
My mount has finally arrived (it didn't take that long; you know how it is when you're waiting for something in the mail)

I must say the detail really is quite good, but the model is comprised of 8 or so pieces but appear to fit together quite nicely. I hope to have it affixed to a base soon, the size of which leads to my next question;
Is this to be the solo in the project or will there be a following "nice group project: the mage, the standard bearer" etc?im asking just so as to know wether to mount him on a scenic base or a standard cavalry or a 40mm or a hybrid of the two?
I'm already having such a good time with this one you get my vote to keep it going!

@24_cigs : I chose this mount because Roosters in my region are renowned all across France for their exquisite taste and they have that particularity to be completely white feathered with blue legs so mine will look jus tthe same. I will even tie it with the Bretonnian equivalent of my home region which should be somewhere nearby Quenelles (a dish from where I live).

As for the rets of the project, since this one is going well, I was thinking about having another one of the same sort. I'm considering any idea, i was thinking about a wizard/mage or a command squad (so you can give a "special taste" to one of your units without having to convert/paint a whole unit or for those brave enough, building our own regiment of renown for example. This could also be a unique scenario with personnal references people want to share, anything, the idea is just to get a bunch of enthusiasts to work together under the same theme.
I have to say it's a real pleasure to see how people have submitted great things so far. ^^

EDIT : oh and I forgot to add that, as Axiom mentionned, this could also be the place to share some painted models :
- everybody apints one model and they're exchanged randomly
- everybody paints a model of a team and a randomly selected person gains them all

there are many things to be done this way.

Got the occasion to work a bit on the knight, I should be finished by the end of next week. The model is actually more advanced than that since I nearly finished metalics yesterday but it was too late to get the camera out :

Anyone else thinking animals of farthing wood?

@Fimm: Hopefully the finished product will be more a mash of Pathfinder meets Last of the Mohicans meets Pan's Labyrinth and not so much The Fables of The Green Forrest, (except Digger the badger he was a tough mother).

That cockeral is looking fantastic Asslessman! Love the colour scheme, what's the breed? ;)

I have made miniscule progress on my bee knight and painted the hive it's base colour. Hopefully I can find time to put some more paint on next week

OK, it was about time I finished my entry !

The rooster knight is done and I'm pretty happy with it. The only thing I dislike are the feathers which look bad. this is mainly due to my acetone bath which was a bit too long and which altered the rubber of the toy. I also drybrushed like a moron when that was totally unnessecary...
Now I see him I wish I had used magnets for the body to to have a foot version but since it's the "knight" project, this isn't a big deal...
Anyway, he's up for marvellous stories (I'll show some in the blog...).

Comments and criticisms, you can throw everything at me now it's done.

One other thing, as soon as a second person finishes his entry, I'll start another group project which could be very nice so I hope it will cheer you up to finish yours!

Looks great, congratulations on pulling it off! I'd never have recognised this as a conversion using a rubber chicken, it really comes together very convincingly.

Thanks, as a matter of fact it doesn't show on the very forgiving pictures but the texture of the rubber has been altered by acetone (far too long bath, a mere dip would have been enough) and my poor drybrushing skills have made it look like sh**. Anyway the rest is looking OK.

That really is something you should be proud of....a wonderful and hilarious model...
I am quite happy with it even though it's plastic and rubber with very few metal parts.

I didn't mention it but the mushrooms are painted in a Blanchesque style on one side to represent the oldschool approach and in a more realistic way on the other to reflect the fact the model is like Oldhammer : between old and new with fun being the main point...

EDIT : and everything began with that :

The whole concept itself is pure genius, this mini is a show of creativity from the beginning to the very end!

Thanks Suber, you know it's totally not too late to join? I'm sure Madrid and its surroundings has some special animal or mascot youc could use for a knight project...

Hum, since I'm having fun with this, why not giving some company with either the talisman gipsy :

Or any female wizard you might think of

and one of this giant cats :

Any help to get my hands on any female wizard or old world lady of the sort would b egreatly appreciated and rewarded. I know there is a wizard with cat familiar but I just can't remember the reference. If you have spare models, please don't hesitate.

The background for this one will be a sort of druidess who has found a little pussycat which has grown gigantic because of the magic of her mistress... (it will be played as a female wizard on unicorn or something like that I think).

PS : just imagine teh left cat with gore on its left paw and a dismembered orc at its feet for instance...

So, my swan monster thing has bubbled its way back to the top of the pile and, although the saddle and reins look awful (I've ordered some putty tools for my next conversion to try and mask my lack of talent  ) I've decided just to go for it and hide the rough work with some paint

More self-flagellatory criticism (and a picture, for what it's worth) on my blog: blog post link

Really great job. I've left longer congrats on your blog. You've definately motivated me to dig out my project (once my skaven are done)
