Dreaded painting this one, as I didn't really like it as a model. But in the end, he painted up super quickly and was quite enjoyable! (Pink underpainting for the yellow)

And I find the opposite true! The white line with a black dot is too much for me. Nuts how different techniques work for different people !

The Paul Cubbin approach might be worth a go:

Faces are my thing - I always try to concentrate on them where possible (especially the eyes) because that's where the life comes from in the model. I paint the eyes in straight after the face has its dark base coat. That way I can tidy them up, get them nice and narrow, shape them and line up the pupils without worrying I'm going to spoil the skin already painted. I also like to put little bags under the eyes. It just seems to add something.

'Cubs' can certainly paint. Sadly, he's not for hire though he I think he still does a bit for Orclord/The Stuff of Legends Tragedy of McDeath
