Very nice sir, really like the terrain features

thank you, they gave good service in our inaugural games of necropolis a few weekends ago.
next up, a couple more miners/sappers and three wizards.

Dwarf Wizards3a.jpg

all three wizards are from trent miniatures and have been cut off their integral bases; the one on the left will join the anschlusszwerge and the two on the right the kaiserzwerge.
i don't know the manufacturer of the miner/sapper second from left, he's also been cut free from an integral base which is marked (c)hd 2005 sh; i got the figure from ebay. the remaining figure is also from ebay and is a dwarf fighter, which i thought looked sufficiently like a miner with his sledgehammer.

Dwarf Wizards3b.jpg

i'm looking to get another couple of miners/sappers if i can find figures i like for a price i'm prepared to pay.

i've had these painted for a couple of weeks, but then procrastinated about, and struggled with, making the bases.

Dwarf Gyrocopters1a.jpg

a citadel gyrocopter i bought just after the model was released (in wd100) and a black tree design copter i picked up at a show much more recently, but still several years ago.

Dwarf Gyrocopters1b.jpg

the btd is quite a lot smaller, but i'm not going to let it bother me.

Dwarf Aerial Navy1.jpg

with the airship i made a few years ago, they complete my kaiserzwerge aerial navy.

Good to see more Dwarves interesting skin tones.

forgot to say thank you. i haven't done anything different with the skin tone on these compared to previous: hobby paints hgp010 dark flesh with a black wash.

is that a magnum ice cream style stick?

thank you, too.
for the propeller? it is indeed. very much a generic one as they have the advantage of not being marked (and the ice creams are better value).

yep ^_^ I often work on the idea of "If it's half the price, is the quality/taste over half as good? if so, it's a good buy. if less, no point"

here're three giant rats, to keep things ticking over while i work on a larger project.

Giant rats1a.jpg

from left to right: citadel metal, citadel plastic, irongate scenery resin.

Giant rats1b.jpg

plenty more of these go at some point, and i need to get some more clan moulder beastmasters to herd them into battle.

i've been working on some vehicles, but that's stalled while i await delivery of some paint that is currently out of stock.
in the meantime i've painted up these figures from the order i placed with alternative armies during their spring sale.

Sensei band1a.jpg

four metal renditions of their mascot alternia and the resin warbot that was the free offer at the time i placed the order.

Sensei band1b.jpg

i think i'll use them as a sensei and her band.

I like that warbot, the leg sections remind me of the old dreadnoughts. The colours are very cool, I do think one day I should try doing some very bright painting. I've never quite summoned up the courage to try!

i've had notification that my paints are on their way. in the meantime, i've gone back to the ratmen.

Skaven24a.JPG

another (the fourth) unit of warplock muskets with a (super) sharp-shooter team.

Skaven24b.JPG

the sharp-shooter team are emang 3d sculpts i got from mbmprinting on etsy (https://t.ly/plkIx), they had a sale on when i got them not so long ago, and he resized them to be a better fit with my old figures. the others are macrocosm ratmen pirates, from kickstarter if my memory serves, but sadly not currently on their website.
next project is perhaps to convert some more musket-rest holders.

the paint arrived on saturday, and i got the first of my trailers painted on sunday and based yesterday.

PDF Armoured TOMB1a.jpg
the armoured transporter, operational / mobile bunker, is a locally fabricated trailer designed to increase the mobility of the planetary defense force as well as provide hard points on otherwise open battlefields.

PDF Armoured TOMB1b.jpg
it is armed with an auto-cannon to protect against enemy vehicles, whilst the pdf troopers inside can use the gun ports against enemy infantry.

PDF Armoured TOMB1c.jpg
not sure when i'll have time to get to the next one, or the vehicles that tow them.

That's a crazy little APC you have there! Love it. Looks very improvised and absolutely great for some kind of local militia trying to bang something together on the cheap. Very proper Rogue Trader that! :)

thanks; that's what i was aiming for.
The camo scheme reminds me of some early tank schemes from WWI. Looks good.
thank you. that was certainly an inspiration.
Ooh I like that. What a crazy thing!
thank you, too.

here's the tractor unit that pulls the armoured tomb into position on the battlefield.

PDF Taurox1a.jpg
i got a couple of taurox kits with a gw voucher when they were slightly better value than now - maybe three years ago.
this is a standard construction apart from the addition of a couple of lengths of lollipop stick in the turret for twin heavy stubbers.

PDF Taurox1b.jpg
i left the exhaust pipes and engine thingies (manifolds?) off for painting. i should have done the same with the bullbars. i have done for the second one.

PDF Taurox & TOMB1.jpg
here's an image of the tractor and trailer unit together.
i hope i'll manage to get onto the second ones soon.

second taurox is painted.
PDF Taurox2a.jpg
more of the same really, although i changed the orientation of the hexagons for a bit of variety.
PDF Taurox2b.jpg
just the second trailer to do now.
PDF Taurox2c.jpg
i note i've forgotten the paint the lights, so i'll go back and do that.

^Looks great! May I ask how big it is? I'm not familiar with the Taurox. It feels huge, but some 80s Citadel goodness for scale would help an increasingly near sighted old fool. :) All that said, holy cow is that lovely! (And truly oldhammer.)

thank you.

not big enough to convincingly look like it could carry a squad of imperial army (the trailers are a bit more convincing, since they don't have the driver/gunner's cab). i've included a scale shot with the two tractors and trailers together.

here's the second trailer painted up, which finishes this little project.

PDF Armoured TOMB2a.jpg
i'm tempted to try and find a smaller vehicle (with the four tracks motif) for my half-strength command squad. any suggestions?

PDF Armoured TOMB2b.jpg
short of that though, this completes my planetary defence force. i'll try and get some photo's of the whole group for the showroom. not sure when that will be though.

PDF Transport.jpg
here they all are, with the promised scale/size indicator.
