thank you. yes, i have managed to get a surprising amount done.
here are anther batch of scarecrows:



a command element for the two-handed weapon unit.



in the middle is ral partha assorted weirdos scarecrow with scythe; the others are from rapier miniatures again.
the flag is paper on wine bottle foil with a cocktail stick pole, the trumpet is my best effort to sculpt, the sledgehammer is also made by me.

there's a lot of talk about scale creep, but i don't see the problem myself.



i picked up these citadel spacefarers at battleground last year, whilst the (modern) inquisitor with inferno pistol and power sword is the second third of my purchases from the most recent gw voucher i was given.



the inquisitor is going to be transferred to the commisariat to keep an eye on my imperial guard (grenadier and copplestone castings bio-chem troopers which he also towers over, but not by quite so much), whilst i think i'll use the spacefarers as ratlings.

Those are commercially available now are they? Very good. I got them a bunch of years back when they were exclusives from a fellow on Facebook. They're great sculpts. I'm quite fond of them. And yours look lovely and should fit in well! The camouflage is an especially nice touch.

the dock workers, mechanic asa stent and breaker korl feldspar this time, who will help populate the uplift port.



i wasn't expecting these to be the next update, but they painted up very quickly.
i think i got these at battleground last year. it's nice having the crooked dice stall turn up at various local(ish) shows.

some more figures i picked up from the battleground tabletop sale last year.



a couple of imperial rams air cavalry from the warzone range. prince august currently has (the remnants of) this range, but doesn't seem to have these figures.



i've painted them to add to my star bastards, as aerial reconnaissance. i was thinking about adding them to the vulture squadron, but they already have a scouter bot.

over the course of a few years, 15-20 years ago i picked up quite a few of the foundry mercenary orcs / ogres in cheap (£5 for three figures) pre-cast blister packs from dave thomas. most of these have been painted up and square based for fantasy. however, over the course of the last year or so, i've decided their appearance is too aesthetically different from the rest of my traditional medieval / barbarian goblinoif army for me to be happy with them sitting within it. i have thus decided to repurpose them as space orks. this mainly requires rebasing, and i have a pack of ttcombat bases on their way. in the meantime i have painted up the last five, which includes the only duplicate (with a head swap).



i will be adding some other disparate figures from my collection to leave me with three full squads and a half strength command squad.



name tags will be added as part of the rebasing effort.

a disparate group of out of production ogres to make up the numbers of my space orks.



hrothyogg's there since i have two copies of this sculpt. the marauder and rackham ogres for the same reason as i am repurposing my warmonger orcs - they don't fit the traditional style of my other ogres.



that finishes the painting of these; just the rebasing to do when the new bases arrive. although i do find myself tempted to get another three compatible goblins / gretchin as military advisors to bulk out the command group to ten (including the two crewing the ogre-bourne cannon.

on friday i quickly made up a couple of walkways for a game of planet 28 i hosted on sunday.
then i made a few hills / buttes for general sci-fi use.



the two at the front are vac-formed plastic that came in the same dinosaur play sets as a lot of my trees. the others are expanded polystyrene.
sky surfer just to provide a sense of scale.

if you have a hot wire cutter these are very quick. i did, however, spend a very long time pondering how i wanted my sci-fi hills to appear.

oh, it's a mixture of things. i have a hot wire cutter but its getting o do the cutting, then trying to get around to painting and stuff.. at each stage just feeling it doesn't look how I want it to so giving up for some time.. Got a couple of gameing board sections for large cliffs which i used what i got, which is just normal polystyrene blocking, which was then covered in some polyfiller to create a nice rocky effect (not the best way but a way i knew about how to do and had the stuff to do it). tried mixing up some poster paint cause it's a lot of surface to paint but the grey mix i screwed up and it's too dark and i can't find a spare bottle to mix up a new batch, so they are just sitting there right now ¬_¬

that's pretty much how i did these, except i sprayed with oxide primer for the rock colour and painted the sand with emulsion for the turf colour.

april proved a slow month, but i did get my conversion / extension boards for necropolis (more or less) finished.

after a considerably longer than planned hiatus, i'm back to the dwarves. first up some anschlusszwerge pistoliers and a (non-aligned) baggage train attendant.



the first four from the left are all ral partha europe dwarves, bought earlier this year specifically to help finish this project. on the far right is lastro lupinthrall from the dwarf lords of legend box set.



this finishes my small unit of anschlusszwerge with pistols. here they are with the others i'd already completed.
