The obligatory "plans for the New Year" thread

I'm hoping to get painted up 1500 points of orcs and 1500 points of dwarves + empire this coming year. Realistically I'll only manage the former (if that...).

Both days of BOYL would be a good target as well, but I'm not sure how many brownie points that will cost me!

Core objectives:

1. This is the year of 'Terror of the Lichemaster' - made up of:

- The other 16 characters to paint (of 19)
- 40 imperials
- 5 dwarves

2. Complete the Seacrette Seven.

3. More goblins (say, 20? And maybe the two warmachines).

4. Assorted chaos in between all of the above in order to keep it interesting - made up of:

- 5 thug horse
- 4 chaos hounds
- 5 chaos knights
- arbitrary number of chaos thugs.


Stretch objectuves:
High elves - enough to make an army (which, of course, is 70 figures).

Extremely stretch objectives:
15mm alternative armies (ion age) warbands for Rogue Trader.

...which suggests at least around 90 figures, and up to 180 figures. Hmmm...

Oh and with all the McDeath popping here and there, I also have to finish this McDeath porting to Rogue trader. The gaming part is nearly completely done but I'm having issues with the more litterary part (I somehow underestimated how difficult it could prove for a french to write comic Shakespearian story transposed in a futuristic universe... any help appreciated... ).

General philosophy
1. Trim my collection.

3. Paint what I feel like.

Tangible goals
1. Find a decent ruleset for scifi (Savage Worlds Showdown main contender now) skirmishing
2. Paint up some models for those rules
3. Finish my Hero Quest base set

Hopes
1. Get a game or two in
2. Finish the Songs of Stillburg campaign I've had going since 2010...
3. WHFB with a few local oldhammerers.

*go to town on one or two of my smaller Ork clans (Snakebites and Freebooterz most likely)
*churn out the rest of my 'stealer cult (quick and easy)
*start and finish my Blood Angel army

My own goals are (in no particular order)

Paint and expand my oldhammer Warriors of Chaos (2000 points under modern rules is my goal)
Paint a small Raven Guard force (I was given about 30 RBT01 marines and an old Landraider with the lascannons missing)
Finish painting my Tyranids army.

B) Work on the RT Imperial Guard to get them to a platoon strength sized force
C) Sculpt/Cast some bits and bobs for Asslessman's Venator Gang
D) Sculpt some not-slann with the intention of eventually getting them cast up for interested forum members
E) Try to finish off at least some of the other myriad projects sitting half painted on my shelves, or yet to arise in my imagination....well maybe.

I may have to make a host of giant frogs so that YOU will be the one on the menu! Have you ever seen what a giant frog can do to a man sized target? If you can't remember, I would suggest that you look it up before August . It may just save your expensive character models life one day!

Slanny sculpts are high on the list of project priorities and obviously link into point A. Ideally I want to have separate arms, heads and so on to maximize the number of models possible but we shall see as we go - I will start with a generic looking Slanny first thing in the new year.

Of course it's English (although I use the Irish version of it meself) and I am farily sure I understood your $%^& reply .

Giant frogs have the charming ability to swallow a man sized model whole. I have never seen it happen in a game but it is one of my Warhammer ambitions to perform this attack on a character model some day, perhaps next August.

Speaking of horny men remind me to do a chaos version of the Slann later, can't be forgetting Realms of Chaos now can we!

1. Paint 2k of Dark Elves for Oldhammer 2014. I'm still procrastinating on how I'm going to paint their skin. Classic blue? Pale? Pale with hints of blue or purple? Very dark black? Very dark brown? Nope, I've got no idea and the skin colour will dictate the colourscheme for the rest of the models.
2. Actually get some games in locally.
3. Finally, flog/trade the bits I don't want from my lead mountain.
4. Keep plugging away painting my Epic models.
