The grand army of King Bruno the Questionable (Bretonnia)

Basically I can raise the dead in a Bret army, and Mousillion is midhammer lore, some false grail I wanna be king stuff going on, big Bret on Bret action.

The thought of charging my Lord and Cav unit into someones juicy regiment then raising a fear causing unit behind them for a rear charge is kinda tempting.

Kinda reminds me of the Carstein list in the back of one of the Vampire Counts books where undead could take human regiments. Never got round to trying that list out back in the day.

Messaged Victrix regarding the release date for their medieval archers, they have had a delay in production but they should be out this month or early December. Trying to keep my Holy Order Bretonnians all from one range and I do need some archers and crossbow dudes so that's perfect timing.
Their new market stalls kit has some nice bits for a baggage cart, and I have got some cart wheels somewhere. Guess it's time I look at medieval cart designs.

Seems daft that they could not, after all most of their subjects were still the living.
They would still have had a normal standing army surely, albeit a bit ill equipped.
Something needs to stop the wolves/bandits/mutants killing the vampires food source.

Fear would keep them enlisted or in some cases a desire for immortality thinking they may be granted the dark kiss.

Get some nice peasants as levies and some old fashioned out of date looking soldiers as the 'army'.

Bob is your uncle.

Loving the new Victrix stuff, bit of a pain getting them ranked up on 20mm bases but totally worth it. Already working on my Xmas order, trying to figure out how many Retainers I need with certain weapons and how many foot knights I want.

It should be, best mushy song ever written. Film wasn't bad either considering it's age, still holds up well. Costner's no Michael Praed but he did an ok job.

Think I might watch it later when I paint, it has been a while, might even push the boat out and get a kebab, can't beat a classic movie with some questionable meat of unknown origin drowning in garlic mayo and chilli sauce. I can feel the heartburn already.

It's a great film! I watched it properly for the first time not too long ago. And I discovered where the sample in this tune came from :)

Suliman, (who will soon be making his way to my horde thanks to a very kind boardy) will now be known as "The Painted Man".

Enjoyable thread. The photos are... Something! I had no idea people were still rocking such potatoes! Be nice to see how some of these other companies models scale to the GW lines, quite clearly there's scale creep from 3rd to 5th and then a lot more from 6th to TOW.

Just got outbid on a box of Nightmare Legion, bid went from 40 to over 100 in the last few seconds as I was placing my bid. AHH well better luck next time.

Have just scored some old plastic Skellybois cheap though. Happy days, now I have enough for a whole unit of scythe wielding rattlers.

Think it's time I started an undead thread so I don't pollute my noble Bretonnian log.

Consider making your 1000th post a photo dump. For noble Bretonnia! Pour la Dame! I'll never tire of seeing them even if I have to squint

Didn't know this was a thing until an hour ago, so I just ordered one. I remember their skellies being a bit on the short side going by the war mammoth I used to have, but I may change the crew anyway.

Also got another 16 Victrix Foot Sergeants for foot retainers with halberds to go with my Knightly Order Brets. So far the Knightly Order (I'll think up a name for the order eventually) is... Lord, BSB, 8 Knightly Order Knights, 8 Foot Knights, 8 Foot Retainers, 16 Foot Retainers with halberds and 6 Crossbows on loan from King Bruno (place holders untill the medieval archers kit drops this month).

Unfortunately there was a balls up on eBay, it relisted an item that has sold so no chariot for me this month.

Ah well, more cash for cans of vanilla latte and CBD energy drinks.

'Accidentally' ordered another 16 Victrix foot knights. Oopsie.
Gonna make a couple of heroes and a unit with handed weapons for extra skelly smashing.

Got an interesting copy of Warhammer armies Undead today, all the colour pictures are from the studio army when they had the tan and black dragon instead of the flying cabbage. The Red Duke is in there as well, kinda cool that I had an updated edition, didn't even realise they changed it back in the day.
