My best surprise like that was my Forge World (http://www.sodemons.com/rhdragons/16forgeworld/01firedragon/index.htm) which granted does need some new spikes, but I put a bid in before going out for lunch not expecting to win and came back to find I owned a rather large dragon. One day I'll fix her up and do a fresh paint job on it (it came in a blue/purple).

So I did finally make a start on my Black Orcs.
Not a huge unit, twelve models including a couple of the later 4th (5th?) edition ones. Anyhow I wanted to solicit thoughts on the skin tone before I went too far. I've gone for a much more olive colour than my normal Orcs/Gobs, which I think is working, I've done one test model. Using one of the easier orcs with plenty of exposed skin and none of the harder rough skin texture and hair some of the others have. The base colour is Vallejo Model Color: Black Green (70.980), then mixing in Game Color: Cayman Green (72.067) and Model Color: Lime Green (70.827).
I need to take a few of the highlights a little further (face and so forth), but I don't want to go crazy since they are supposed to be darker hued goblinoids. Anyhow thoughts - do you think that's working as a Black Orc?

Yeah, in doing them I was wondering about that (getting some more). I think I'll enjoy them more than I thought I was going to, the "messy" surface texture on some of them has always been a bit off-putting, but now I have some paint down and I'm starting to outline areas I'm feeling more confident I can "see" the model so to speak. I think if I see them I might get them, but then again there is something nice about crossing off a unit as "done" so I'm not going to go hunting.

I really like that scheme. Very much a "Black Orc" and still a greenskin and yeah, Olley's lovely sculpts just work so well with shading etc.
