Completed work on the remaining Stormvermin (apart from banner). Really happy with the outcome of this unit and feel the colour choice for the fur really helps make the unit unique and at same time I think keeping the shield design and other colours similar to the rest still means they feel part of the army.

So I'm left with 2 main units to still paint up, another clan unit and a big blob of slaves. I started this journey on June 1st last year so will be interested to see how much more I can paint up before the year is over. I do know that this has definitely been my most productive painting time for a very long time.

Gorgeous. That's such a wonderful deep/blood red. Too often it goes pink or orange in the highlighting. The grimy white fur sets them off really well.

I like warpstone globes, how did you paint them?
Funnily enough its the one part of them I'm not sure about. Part of me thinks I should have painted them the opposite way around, so green at the bottom and dark at top to try make it look like a glass ball with liquid at the bottom ???

As for painting its very simple paint black then build up the green but each brighter step paint less area. Then the brightest green I try to paint swirls around the ball then some gloss varnish.

Next little project, technically not an original Jes sculpt but felt the army needed a centre piece, something that stood out from the rest and felt a screaming bell would work well. Long way to go and struggled to get the bell to even fit in between the uprights. I painted the parts up separately then glues in place so I could give everything a good coat of paint. Now its glued I will go back and work on the areas that are visible adding more highlights etc.

glad I'm not the only one who has/had trouble getting it all lined up ^_^ though that looks a bit more warped then mine.. the supports on mine are straight where you're look to bend a bit.

still, nice work
