I've contributed a few Orctober posts on my blog and there's more to come with three more orcs to complete the warband, some Blood Bowl Orcs and some Marauder Goblins over the next fortnight....

Wonderful work.
Is that an Iron Claw Ork? I didn't know that Bob made Orks in that time.
The only thing I can contribute is the unpacking (well, at least I searched and found them) of my Orc archers.
Sadly my camera insists on focussing on the shields only. I have to make it focus on green faces before I can show them here.
Well, here is a teaser:

Second Orctober project finished - Foundry Goblin wolfriders. Depth of field still not quite mastered, but you get the idea...

Haha, Orctober, what a name. And that teacher anecdote tops it all.

Very nice treatment given to Greenskins here by everyone involved. It's good to see.

Had no time for any hobby stuff this month. Will I be able to get anything done for Orctober? Keeping my fingers crossed that I'll have some painting time this week.

I'm in awe of Niibl's shields for Harboth's Orc Archers. They look fantastic!
I'll post some of my rendition of Harboth... but I'm sort of ashamed... my shields are very plain. Sometimes my own minimalist approach to painting drives me a little crazy.

I was going for a "realistic" approach to the shields... but now that I look at them again, I wonder, "Why strive for realism when painting the shield of a miniature orc?"

The camera has a point - those are some awesome shields.

Thanks for the compliments.
I sculpted the shields when I got hold of my first green stuff as some kind of training.
And just when they were finished GW removed the option for shields from orc archers in the armylist
BTW, I am fed up with taking orc pictures, so i just made some group shots:

Ok, you lot got me on this bandwagon.
I usually dont *do* orcs but Bluey gave me this guy to muck with for Orctober.
A few mods only and hey presto: Orc Snow. He knows nothin'.

Ha, nothing like taking and then posting miniature pics and then noticing some glaring omission

Great work everybody, while Greenskins are usually my bread and butter my plate is so full of marines and Escher I sat this one out ( *politely ignores boss and hisses, dodges rotten fruit*)

I love the plain shields! they let the FANTASTIC PJs you applied to the Orcs themselves shine through. Very well done! Can I ask what your photo set up is like? Your pictures are very well lit and crisp.

Cheers,

So much orcy goodness. I think I may have to put together a pdf of all the orcness that has come out this year. Enough stuff to actually produce a fanzine, The Oldhammer Orctober Special.

As always I've ended up super busy so haven't responded to each and every post but I have looked at them and drooled at the old school goodness.

2 days to go and I'm on track to finishing THE WHOLE ARMY!

So Clooooose!!!

Don't leave Orctober without my posts!

I'm holding off updating the blog until I get proper photos and finish those last 3 banners.

Basing and banners tomorrow!

Orcs don't' follow rules. Orctober is finished when we say it's finished, even if the orcs are all eating roast Rudolf by the time we're done..
