Mordheim scenery (Witch Hunter Watch House)

Re: Mordheim Buildings....Halfling Tenements 16/02

Cheers!
:)

The next one to be finished was the Halfling Quarter.

I saw the Halfling Quarter as originally being outside town and featuring small 'Hobbit-holes'.
The town would have grown to surround them and the only way the locals 'flings could build was up....

I no longer have this as it was sold to a fella in France.
Space was becoming an issue and something had to give.

I did not keep it as I could only really use it in games of Mordheim, whereas all my other scenery is more generic in function so was given precedence.

The detail on these pieces is crazy good. I'm not sure where you find the time to build and paint to this standard while maintaining this level of productivity, but please keep going. This is inspirational stuff, I would love to play on that table.

These were all made some time ago, and some tyook a fair while to make.
I am just posting them as I find the pictures in my stash.

Still, this would take me decades and it wouldn't be that good. Can't wait to see what you find next in the stash.

As for the next ones, they are not buildings but figures in the graveyard and docks...ghosts and ghouls that were quickly painted up for a scenario that evening.

The Ghosts

Game11211043.jpg

A selection of Hasslefree Villagers that I had in my bits box that I could see no immediate use for.
Very quick drybrushing and washes to get them finished for the Undead-based game.

The Ghouls

Newhammer plastic Crypt Ghouls. They are very fragile, but do take well to drybrushing, and I think they came out fine considering that all of them and the ghosts were completed in an afternoon.

I just found a few photos of the Town set up for a game with the buildings made at that point...

Re: Mordheim table (Warehouse...)

Thanks, chaps.
Much appreciated.

Next up is a Warehouse that doubles up nicely in a whole bunch of settings.
It is a Hovels pre-painted Livery Stable that I have based, added a yard and tarted up a bit.

A simple job of 'tarting up' an already nice building.

I hope that you like it...

Re: Mordheim table (Warehouse..)

A very nice building... and I'm sure 'tarted up' is an understatement as to what you've actually done with it!

I really did not do too much to it, just added a few washes and highlights.

The 'yard' area is simply coffee stirrers added to the original fence, a few resin bits and pieces dotted about and a liberal coating of stuff from my scenics box.

Re: Mordheim table (Warehouse..)

Woh
A very nice game field.
Since you have invested a lot of time and work.
Congratulations.

Re: Mordheim table (Witch's Hut.)

Thanks, chaps much appreciated.

It has been some time since I added any pics to this thread, so I thought that I would rectify that.
;)

Here is a stone hut, produced by LAF's very own Zaheer (so if you want one for yourself, send him a PM ;)).

It will be serving a dual purpose in my projects.
It will be used as a Witch's Hut in Mordheim, its base fitting into a larger whole, but that will be made soon.
(All will be revealed. I have a plan!)

It will also be used in my Strange Aeons project as (surprise!) a Witch's Hut, but also as a Scene of Horror, hence the CD-sized base, allowing me to use it as a stand alone piece.
It also works well for just about any place that has not been developed too much as these types of huts were pretty common in large parts of Europe and the UK, and probably many other places besides.
A very versatile piece of scenery indeed.

Re: Mordheim table (Witch's Hut)

fantastic! I saw many of these "bee-Hive" huts in Ireland when I was there. The figure is nice too...hes a loony!

Cheers,

Blue
