fantastic! I saw many of these "bee-Hive" huts in Ireland when I was there. The figure is nice too...hes a loony!

Yep, plenty in Ireland too.
Glad you like it, and the Shaman.

Very interesting addition to your town - well done :)

Thank you, sir.

Another small addition that provides great cover as well as making an interesting addition, the Walled Statue....

The model was made for me by Bezzo over on the LAF, as part of a trade, and was destined to be part of my Strange Aeons project, as a 1920's War Memorial, but with a swap of statues it should work well in Krappefortt.

Needs more dribbly run and dirt

Seeing as how it is also used in my Strange Aeons games, which are set in 1920's Britain, I opted to keep it as it is rather than dirty it up too much.
My 'standard' English village War Memorial statue.....

I got this one at BLAM, in the secret miniature swap, where you all donate a 28mm scale miniature and then draw one of them randomly out of the hat.
The idea is to paint up the one that you got and enter it into a fun painting competition.
This was the figure that I drew out and thus was my entry for that.

Re: Mordheim scenery (Walled Statue)

Lovely, makes me want to go back to my scenery projects.

Would like to see more.

Re: Mordheim scenery (Walled Statue)

Dirt levels ok. It probably means something to one the residents who spends their entire life ensuring that the memorial to whatever or whoever is kept clean. :)

Re: Mordheim scenery (Chapel)

Thanks, chaps.
Much appreciated.

Next up is another multi-purpose piece of scenery...

The Chapel.

I was originally going to paint it up as a Temple of Morr, but decided that that would be too dark and limit it to only one real use, Mordheim.
Going for a lighter colour would enable it to be used as a small church or chapel in other genres, so that was what I went for.

As I was about to start adding the scenic items (a profusion of growing things to hide the poor joins and mouldlines, as I picked it up pre-built on ebay, and it had been put together rather shoddily  ::)), I had a bit of a brainwave: Why not go the whole hog and really go to town on the thing?

Here is how it ended up:

As you can see, I went a bit mental with the scenic materials, but I think it has come out fine.

It will also now work perfectly as a lovely village chapel in 1920's Britain, too.
;)

In Krappefortt it will represent a Chapel of Sigmar instead and make a nice break from the doom and gloom look of the rest of the place.

Re: Mordheim scenery (Chapel)

Very nice and nothing mental, even if coming from me that may mean nothing! Love it!

Cheers!
It is one of my favourites, so I am glad that someone else likes it.

:)

Here is a picture of the Chapel seeing use in Britain in the 1920's....

The Cult of the Purple-headed Worm are up to no good again.
;)

Re: Mordheim scenery (Chapel)

Very nice, since I still have one of these to put together and paint, I might very well use your approach. Also very excited to see some Call of Cthulhu action.

Cheers.
I would love to see what you do with your chapel when you get around to it.
If Cthulhu-style action is your thing, there is plenty here on my Strange aeons thread on the LAF...

Some graveyards shall be posted next....

Don't hold your breath, I bought the terrain set including the chapel many years ago and so far only managed to paint a few fences.
Very eclectic mix of colourful characters in your Cthulhu thread, it was fun to browse. A friend of mine is painting up the figures from Mansions of Madness, which already had me tempted. One day, one day...

Well, I look forward to seeing them when you do.

These were made for a couple of friends on the Lead Adventure Forum, mostly carved out of foam with slotta bases used to 'cap' the wall columns and the old Heroquest tomb added to one.

Re: Mordheim scenery (Scrathbuilt Graveyards)

Both sickening and inspiring. So much really high quality terrain.

Re: Mordheim scenery (Scrathbuilt Graveyards)

Terribly cool, as usual, love every bit of this thread.

Re: Mordheim scenery (Scrathbuilt Graveyards)

Lovely, you inspired me to restart on mine. Hope I can show it off in the next weeks. Still painting on it!

Thanks, chaps.

That is good news/

Next up is the Witch Hunter Watch House.

As I have just found the WIP pictures of it, I will post the before pictures here and add the finished ones after...

Here are a few pics of the Tower and ground floor of the Watch House after having received an undercoat...

Not exactly pretty but it is came together nicely, albeit slowly.
The scoring of the foam to create the brickwork is a little more obvious in these pics, along with the green stuff stones that were added for a little variety in depth.
A couple of bits of leftover tiling sheet and some wallpaper scraps added some texture to the base.

I shall post the finished article later....
