No. 11 - Skink with javelin

A couple of firsts, first lizardman of any kind and the first model with a large amount of yellow (always found it frustrating). The yellow didn't quite work as I'd planned but he's done and the next one will be better!

Attempted an Aztec style shield design, slowly improving my freehand.

Kinda iconic Warhammer race, but I've never painted one before, and as I intended to paint some for my dungeon project, so I figured I would kill two birds with one sling shot.
So, Skretch the Ironclad is my first entry.

This guy is my character for a special project, but, much like Weazil's 'mostly naked dwarf', I cannot reveal it's purpose 'til the time is right... (and Gaj, seriously, i've been waiting like six months, when are you going to show us your creepy miniature S&M biz?).

Hah! Forgot about that already. I do have the figure, who has been cleaned and assembled, just waiting for a paint job. Maybe, after I get the entry for the other challenge done and sometime in the continuum of Terror of the Lichemaster and my new goblin project which you know all about, I might get back to that chap. Maybe just after I get the time machine done!

Thanks for reminding me!

I love that figure, I used to have him oh so long ago (when I had hair). I love him in red. And the little plaid at his shoulders is just a special little touch, marvellous. Make sure everybody that enters takes the little badge. Just copy the URL from the pic in my signature and paste it into yours!

Yesterday evening I painted the 'Indomitable Gnome Fighter' from the BC 1 Adventurers Starter Set, the same boxset as Asslessman's Dwarf.

I have finally painted a Gnome something I had never done before. :)

I wanted to capture that 1st and early 2nd Edition look and colour, and used the artwork from the front fo the Forces of Fantasy supplement as inspiration. :)

No. 15 Fairy

I had to think quite hard to come up with something that I hadn't painted before (and I had a model for). I got this fairy as one of the freebies at BOYL 2014, and I thought she might serve as a familiar for a good wizard. As she would have looked a bit small and puny on a flat base, I made a small tree to perch on. The twig is rosemary (lightly drybrushed to bring out the texture), the foliage is some shrub dipped in glue and flock, and on the base are a few leaves made from birch seeds.

I like those 2 , Lee you really managed to give him a very "noble" look which fits the sculpt a lot imho.

Thank you. I also gave him a bit of a (red wine) red nose ;)

Cool camo on the skaven musketeer's robe, very subtle.

So subtle I didn't even mean to do it ;)

The nose is brilliant. Gives him that garden gnome like cheery look before he stabs you in the knee.

Nice one! Not sure I like the sculpt, but your treatment of it is good.
