Hume June 2026

So my entry for Hume. Not what I had intended to do, however, and I don't know about anyone else, but it's been a bit hot for painting round my way.... So this chap was done last night as it had been sitting undercoated in the to do pile for at least a year and was ready to go. 20260627_091559.jpg

It was only after he was done and I was checking Stuff of Legends to see if he had a name in the adverts that I realised the figure is broken. He should have a (tbh ridiculously large) fleur de lys on his helmet. So it was a happy coincidence I had done one on the shield. I then went back to the lead pile and was able to confirm that, yes, despite owning all the other lords of battle (except for the casualty), i randomly picked out and painted the only one that was damaged. Well done me...

Anyway, Hume. Its not just for poor downtrodden foot soldier types, aristos with broken helmets can join too. Although they probably won't help with the clean-up.

Thanks both. As for a repair, had i noticed before painting, i'd have added a similar crest from the numerous later bretonnian bits i have lying around. But definitely not now he's painted. Part of the reason I didn't notice was that the figure doesn't feel (to me at least) like it needed a crest and whoever had clipped it off in the past had done a pretty clean job. I'm also happy with the shield which ought to be redone when combined with a fleur de lys crest as you can definitely be too bretonnian...

Ok, here's my entry model finished (I'm sorry but shields haven't arrived yet; that's why the goblins have bases but not shields on my other pictures). I took this shot so you can see how he looks next to the other "non-armoured" guys of the army; the 2 white stripes on red poles /handles will be a theme here, yes.

The rock platform worked, BTW.

These look great and the army will be fantastic. And I love the marauder thug too, I think they're a tricky set of figures to make look chaos unless you go over the top slannesh but you've done a great job with the colour choices.

Looking awesome!! Love the highland beastman, the tanned skin of the archer and I can picture that thug rambling on about the virtues of WFB 3rd Ed!! 😂

Here's my entry, painted him in my shed last night (to the relaxing sound of hedgehogs roaming around on the lawn).

He's a Grenadier barbarian by (I think) Mark Copplestone who along with Jez Goodwin is probably my favourite sculptor. I'm going to paint a load of Grenadier/Citadel barbarians and Norse as a unit for my McDeath collection, but he might end up forming part of my adventurous band (inspired by @Brother Meredith ) along with the wizard I've just finished and the ninja I've just undercoated.

I bought this figure pretty soon after it originally came out and have only recently noticed the likeness. MC is an amazing sculptor, I own loads of his figures. Happily these Grenadier ones are all pretty much still available to buy new (I have a fair amount of the Future Wars ones as well).
Got a few of the shaman from the range from back in the day and more recently a freebie one from em4 after an order delay. Just need a good excuse to paint them up some day! 😉

Coming in juuust in the nick o' time (again), here's a contribution to Hume:
hune1.jpg

Kasimir Baggenbart has found a weird bone staff thrumming with magic power and now sets out on a life of adventure and grave robbery. To save his bacon he's hired three ruffians who are already starting to eye him rather oddly.

Together they're sure to get ALL the wyrdstone - or dragonballs or holy talismans or whatever it might be.
