some are debatably humans. You need to figure out how to Define human. is is a race? is it a type? if they are from a different planet but in other ways look just like a human, is that Human?

Though Moorcook was sooo loose with what is and isn't the eternal champion it is very tricky.. pretty much just 'fights for the Cosmic Balance' with some aspect of a 'black blade' means Eternal Champion. Two or more can even exist at the same time in the same universe.
 
Had fun last weekend at Rolling in the Ruins Moorcock RPG con playing a character from a Hawkmoon game who had travelled across to Elric’s kingdom, in my mind the character is based on a member of my Mordheim warband. 😉 The GM actively encouraged us to do this and built it into the scenario. So much fun! 😄
