I was going to say, are you sure that's a tortoise and not a turtle but... yes.. Tortoises are land based, turtles are sea base (rarely going onto land apart from to lay eggs).. which is why the Teenage Mutant Hero Tortoises ^_^; (due to the original 'parody' nature, they are SOO not ninja.. Always felt the Hero Name made FAR more sense..)

Anyway, Nice work so far. I'm pretty sure it's Male.. (longer tail, female have pretty small tails) but.. can't see the head cutout under it's head to see if it's a V or a U ^_^ Don't mind me..
I thought it was fairly obvious from the feet, rather than flippers, but that's just me;)

point. But Aquatic Turtles, more then Sea Turtles, have more feet too ^_^
Morla the Ancient one was a Turtle... Wisest being in all of Fantastica (Fantasia in film) living in the swamps of sadness..

she is left along and anyone who enters the swamp and is depressed, it will make them more and more depressed until the swamp takes them. You should read the novel. A good fantasy story with tons of races which.. aren't really done, or atleast, not as they are in the novel.. I've only kinda been able to make up one miniature based on characters.. and that is only half down.. trick to get right ^_^

Next piece to receive a quick flick over with various colours - a Coatl from www. gct studios. com, picked up at Salute a few years ago. I'll be honest and say it was a completed b"!&£%d to essemble, the painting was far easier.

The Neverending story was only one book (German originally). It was KINDA turned into two films but.. the second one didn't carry much of the plot from the second half of the book.. then they did a third film... a cartoon series based on the third film too..

anyway

yep, nice Coatl. I can't say I remember seeing them as hooded cobras before.. Looks good

Over the festive break I splashed a little colour over a few pre-slotta C series Slann, I intend to use them as guard for my mage priest in one form or another depending upon which edition I'm playing. Just the basing and varnishing to do.

Enjoy

nice work. it's always good to see some old slann; warhammer wouldn't be the same without the chariots of the frogs.

They are lovely, great colours. I'm growing quite fond of the old C series Slann, but alas resolutions to paint what I have before I acquire new (old) models ... must stay strong!

Again, thanks for the kind words, I do try to mix my palette. I wouldn't get too excited about acquiring C series Slann, I obtained mine years ago and when I look at the usual sources find them way too expensive for my pocket now in any reasonable numbers!

I see you got over your samurai then.
The unpainted samurai are in a dark corner of the attic and won't be seeing the light of day for sometime:lol::lol::lol:
By comparision the Slann and Lizardmen are a joy, currently spreading a little colour over another dozen or so.
