Buggy Bugman’s…

Well this mighty tone arrived in the post today! :)
Admittedly not much use for all the 3rd Ed and TOW campaign I have lined up, but hopefully some inspirational lore and pics to fire my creative juices whilst tolling away on ranks of stunties… ;)

Been busy grooming more dwarf beards and helmets this evening!
Got x5 of this crossbow man sculpt and I just had to individualise them… Also the old Fantasy Fighters deserved a little more attention too! ;)
They are going into a growing force of Dwarves who are getting an outing tomorrow as I get to grips with rules for TOW at a friendly campaign run at a local gaming store.

My semi-painted regiment had an outing today, fought against Tomb Kings. Felt very rusty on the basic rules but the mass of sub-rules was even harder to keep a track of! Fortunately I had a helpful opponent and the centre owner was on hand to explain too!
Anyway, the dice gods were not in my favour and was not looking too good for the dwarves until the final turn when my flame cannon took out a chunk of warrriors, my slayers demolished a unit of skirmishing archers and Bugman’s Rangers finished off a unit tomb guard.

It 'aint a proper battle unless there are some primed models on the battlefield! I've not tried The Old World yet, what did you think of the ruleset?

Yeah, I know this was just a practice game to ease into the rules. The campaign rewards painted units and will develop escalation style, starting at 750pts (but this force already comes to 835!).
TOW rules played quite well, but there is a multitude of special rules and buffs to try to recall. Perhaps these are more in the background in 3rd or supplemented by cards in 4th, but was glad to have use of Old World Builder as reference during the game!
