Brattish Behaviour & Dandy Canes - Painted Bratts

Thanks everyone! This has been a real slow burn project (I started it before I joined the BLOOD forums!); I'm glad that there's some figures coming out of it :)

If I were doing a top 10 of favourite oldhammer creations these guys would definitely be in it. Look forward to seeing the next one! Great stuff!

Finished off the new guy - I'm going to be calling him Flack Scorgull (very thinly veiled musical reference):

And with his buddies:

Looking like the start of a gang now :)

Correction : it looks like a bloody good looking band !

I just don't get why any model by Jes would be unreleased or even limited released. Thi sone is just so good and could be made to look like anything you'd want with just different paintjobs! He is very convincing as a Bratt.

I love those little rusted additions you've added as a reminder we're dealing with underhivers.

"Aaaaand now! Live on stage....THE....SUTTER....DUKES!" (stadium goes wild)

That kind of thing JB? ;)

As for the unreleased nature of the models, my only real guess is that they got shelved purely because Confrontation was pushed on the back burner (until Necromunda 5 or years later) and there was no place for figures like these in 2nd edition 40k. That fits with the policy of only releasing models that have game rules (to the detriment of the wider game IMO).

ardyer made the comments about the bases which led to the additions. I think it's just enough enhancement to work, and it was a very valid suggestion - thanks ardyer!

Somebody listened to me! I don't think that's ever happened before

As an aside, when I first read the blog post, I read it as your reference!

I'm reluctant to using the term "gang" for bratts because :

a) they suck in combat (written in the rules)
b) it sounds awfully low-street
c) I strongly believe being a Bratt is a life style more than a job or way to earn money like for most other real gangers
d) fashion, style, music are at the very core of their existence
e) every other gangs are called "gangs" and they're just not like every other gang

In the morning (3 PM), when Bratts get up, they put on some music, shave (including forehead for some) and comb their hair (that's a 3 hours job minimum), put on some make-up, perfume and fancy clothes and then decide which tech lab they're going to blow up or which scavenger camp they're going to burn down while talking about nail art and all.

They're just not a "gang"

or maybe I'm just making this up to hide my lacks in english

If he fails a bottle test he'll run, he'll run so far away...

Fantastic looking 'band' ;) axiom!

Look forward to seeing and playing against them. The colours are nicely themed and beautifully executed.

The improvement in painting is due to a number of factors:
- Fewer models with proportionally more attention.
- Better photography.
- A realisation that drybrushing isn't the only painting technique ;)

Cheers!

Great conversion work. These models rock.
The white paint sceme lets them look like flashy decadent gitz.
My favourite is the one with the girl. Reminds a bit of an 80s Rockstar with his spouse.
