Brattish Behaviour & Dandy Canes - Painted Bratts

Not only did I finish off my Dark Elf Blood Bowl team last night, but I also reinvigorated my Bratt gang project. You'll have seen the two gangers before (unbased) in the WIP thread, but this is the first time that my Bratt leader has ever been shown:

The leader is converted from modern pieces - the head from the Space Wolves special character Lukas the Trickster and the body from a Victoria Miniatures Imperial Noble. I must confess, I hated painting the puff and slash and plan never to try it again!

As for the blue winged beastie, its representing a Caryatid from the Confrontation rules - a little familiar attracted to the successful and lucky! It's a Reaper familiar IIRC.

If the silhouette looks familiar, that's because he's been on the banner for my blog for the last 6 months ;)

Brilliant, I've been asking to myself what silhouette that was!

The caryatid is a very nice touch and it really ties with the confrontation rules !
Though we had already seen the 2 LE bratts before, it sis good to see them fully painted. There must be a sign hre, you're the second person coming up with bratts today. That's enough, I will put the techs away and move the bratts up the list...

The leader really has the arrogance you 'd expect from a bratt leadre, he's not even sporting any weapon, he's just here to show off!

Who's the first? ;)

I can't even claim a sword cane for the leader - it would never come out of the scabbard! Style over substance yet again ;)

Thanks! Mine have got more hair too ;)
...and style, he is a very good painter though so he might surprise us with the colourscheme, check out his blog, he has tons of good things and some very tasty things ahead...

They look good! My only criticism is that the bases aren't "urban" enough. I don't think they necessarily need rubble or anything, just some semblance that they're in a hive and not the rolling ash wastes.

Fair cop ardyer - it was a deliberate decision so they are suitable in a range of settings. In retrospect perhaps a few additions wouldn't hurt.

Great conversion, painting and use of a Caryatid there mate :)

Wow, that's a model with a face I always thought I hated. With grey hair and on a body without the enormous power armour it looks sweet!

Cool looking guys axiom, a Bratt gang is on my bucket list...

Bratts are rich enough to be able to afford any kind of materials on their bases.

...and chained nanotech blades that can morph to fit into corkscrew canes.

I didnt know that Reaper made a bat winged cherub.

Funny how that works. As soon as I saw the model I thought "Bratt gang". Unfortunately I only realised I wanted it after it had been turned to finecast. I think I spent a month or two searching for a metal one cheap enough to justify cutting the head off and discarding the rest (I keep meaning to stick a new head on it and sell it as a pro-conversion on ebay!).

Yeah - comes in a pack with a winged monkey with scythe and fez, pigeon-griffon thing and something else :)

Excellent work mate. Loving the style. Next thing you know you will be knocking out some very original Scavvies ;)

That would be a modelling challenge indeed!

Managed to finish off the Thin White Duke and repaint the hair on all the other Brats. Here's the finished Thin White Duke:

And with his 3 mates:

You'll notice a bit of a change in a couple of areas - the white hair is now improved, and now had the addition of a pink stripe. The Thin White Duke gets an entirely pink hairstyle (he needed something different than the previous attempts of black, white or turquoise). The pink also does another important job of acting as a flash colour to stock the orange/turquoise/white getting too regimented. The other minor change is the addition of some small pieces of scrap to the bases to help reinforce the sci-fi element. It's a minor touch, but I think it helps :)

Yep the purple/pink hair nails it and be being the spot colour makes everything else blend together well.

Good job young man.

I'm not going to lie, When I saw them, I immediately had those words come to my mind :

"Keep feeling fascination, Passion burning, Love so strooooong, Keep feeling fascination, Looking learning, Moving ooooon"

You will understand that it means it has just the perfect vibe... the single strand of coloured hair is very good I think, just the kind of things you would have seen ni Adam Ant or others.

They look great. The Thin White Duke is particularly memorable, which is impressive consider how cool the rest of his cronies look.
