What is the maximum number of players in this event JB?

There are 7 of us recorded and 6 active so I am not expecting anyone else now. I'll have a spare band for anyone who wants to join on the day so that'd mean 8 players tops i.e. 24 models tops. I dn't think we should go beyond that point or we would miss the quick and nervous side we want for that game.

Definitely. Eight is where it should be capped for sure :)

John "Hannibal" Smith would make a badass sensei...
You understand you cannot drop such statements wildly with Sean and me around right? I still have a theme and preparation to make for the confrontation game... (rubs chin)

GM ANNOUNCEMENT:

Thanks to some productive brainstorming with Cheetor, here are some news about the game :

- number of players will be limited to 8
- skills and buffs will be attributed randomly from a deck of buff cards. 2 card swill be issued to each player, leaving him the possibility to keep the one he prefers.
- There wil lbe a Holy ground on the battlefield where fighting is regarded as inappropriate by the gods (but it's up to players to decide wether that concerns them or not).
- Sensei can only be killed (last wound removed) by another sensei in close combat and the winner receives both the character card AND he can add the buffs his victim had.

For the cards I'll only need :
- a picture of your model
- The name and title of your model
- a little description or catchphrase to go below the photo

Thanks for that, Ferrograd will be burning hot at the end of the WE !

I've been watching HIghlander 1 and 2 just to remember everything I need to... I hadn't seen them in ages and I had never seen them in english, Both Sean Connery's and Christophe lambert's accents have been challenging to hear (laughter issues mainly) ... I can't remember why I thought these were the best films ever when I was a lad...

Anyway, this has fueled me up even more than I was for proper reenacting on the table AND behind it

You got that right. Lamberts accent seems to get even worse in the second movie.

I watched the first one a couple of weeks ago and although it has very many terrible elements, it was actually entertaining in a dumb way. On the other hand I watched Highlander 2 last night - it was the first time that I have seen it since the cinema release I am pretty sure - and it was even worse than I expected, its terrible. Irredeemable.

Of course, good movies dont always make good fodder for miniature games. Bad movies can often be even better reference material for a fun miniatures game :)

Yes, Lambert's worse in the second, especially when he's old and has this pseudo sicilian corleone accent...

ON the gaming side, I was wondering how multi hand to hand worked with Necormunda rules... we will have 8 Sensei oin the board and the possibility of a threesome or even worse is not to be excluded so how does it work when the outcome is so much more importnat than in a mere fught between a SM and a horde of gretchin?

Has anybody bothered to watch the third one? or the TV series for that matter? It was one of these things I always just flicked past while channel surfing.

I saw this one when it was released at the cinema. Moar fight, more silly Lambert laughs and a black bad guy who gets cut in the middle and doesn't even respect the holy ground (at least the Kurgen did in his own special way).

Has anybody bothered to watch the fourth one?

There are 5 films and I think I have seen them all but when I try to think too hard about 3, 4 and 5 it brings on one of my 'turns' and I have to get nurse to bring me my pills. The TV series was good in parts but I can only recall bits of it before the screaming starts. It did involve the most gratuitous use of a pony tail in a television series though .

Nice one Richard !

The series intro with the guy saying "they're immortal and the cannot die" was enough for a lot of people to get involved (that and the pony tails).

How do we cope with multi-combat now (just admire my back-on-track skill).

I only have the new necromunda rules to hand but for multi-combats you simply work out a series of individual combats in an order determined by the outnumbering player. Presumably in a 3 way combat between sensei where there is no outnumbering player then the active player ie the player whose turn it is would get to choose which of the others to hit first and would fight a round of combat with both. Would that work?

If we are playing with the cards why not just shuffle, put them face down and the first card off the deck gets to strike first. He can divide his attacks against his opponents. Work out results. Next card out same again. Anybody dies before their card is played then they obviously don't get to go or maybe just get a single attack in desperation. Henchman go after all the Sensei. If it's just a Henchman on henchman battle just use the sensei cards to denote the 'side' they are on. How does that sound?

Unless I am missing something here, it's a non-issue. The Necromunda rules cover multiple combats. All miniatures engaged with a miniature belonging to the player currently taking their turn fight during that players turn (like RD and 2nd ed). Fighting multiple opponents incurs penalties.

I don't see the issue. Am I missing something?

Incidentally, that shot of a GW in the Highlander show is pretty funny

Fair play. I'm just over thinking things

Speaking of overthinking things, I think that the concept of "Holy Ground" makes more sense for Sensei than it does for Christopher, Sean, Clancy and the rest of them. The Sensei have a direct connection to the Emperor after all, whereas the connection between Planet Zeist and sacred locations on Earth is vague to say the least. Anyway...

“You are shafe only on Holy Ground. None of ush will violate that rule. it’sh tradition.”

Mario Van Peebles must have missed that particular memo...
