@extra time
Thanks. Sculpting is done but I need a week (or so) for painting.

How dare you think I would release without your entry? This thing desirves a novel for itself ;)

Don't say that you will wait - thats no motivation
So, I wielded my brushes and it did not hurt...for now (well, usually it only gets boring really quickly).
I have to get most stuff done by tomorrow evening.
Once work and playtesting has started again I won't have that much time and nerves left to paint
(but I need to be finished before the wife wants her kitchentable back).
ATM paint needs to dry so there is time for a little pic.

Spectacular, it's almost coming to life under before our eyes !

Tha sculpt was already wonderful but I sense the painting will make it legendary.

The way you've sculpted that throne, for me, is the absolute epitome of 80's realm of chaos. It really is quite an incredible feat what you've achieved here, it's been wonderul to be able to watch it unfold. Thanks!

Ok, I think the throne is done.
I have greenstuffed it to it's base, but as this has been done for the third time now, the champion has developed some kind of plateau soles.
With some paint and some flock this should be coverd up easily enough though.
The next step will be a handfull of Nurglings which will be painted and glued to the throne one by one.
Cleaning up the base will be the last step.

Wow! :o

There's so many awesome elements to this palanquin Niibl!

The chain being hooked into/melded within the body, the brass work looks great (could you share your recipe for the paint?), the detailed fungus & toadstools, oh and the GS skill just goes without saying.

Reminiscent of the old Golden Daemon entries from the 80's & early 90's......unique, individual interpretations of the Warhammer world.

Fantastic

Really looks exceptional, the sculpting is amazing and the paintjob complements it really well, you've really managed to capture that old school eavy metal look

Impressive ! It looks like you had Pete Taylor on one shoulder and Fraser Gray on the other when you did this !

Flawless from beginning tilll the end. The myriad of lovely details really echo the Nurgle Palanquin and the mushrooms an ddemonic faces really strengthen that oldschool vibe. Your painting though is a good synthesis of oldschool and newschool.

Did I say I love it ?

I DO.

EDIT : Oh and finally managed to add the last bits of GS after restarting the work. New priming tonight and finished job very soon

Easy enough, although it was some kind of accident:
Game color:
1 Tinny Tin (base coat)
2 Brassys Brass
3 Bright Bronze
4 Polished Gold (highlights)
GW:
5 Coelia Green shade (ink, all over, remove excess with tissue)
6 Nihilakh Oxide (on recess areas that won't be polished by use)
7 Note that the Oxide looks somewhat shitty
8 cover the higher areas with additional dabs of polished gold and lessen the Oxide in recesses with dabs of bronze

Finally here's my entry, n°51-55 : Phalless Whistletongue

DSC00098.JPG

DSC00100.JPG

He was a norse marauder who roamed costs with his crew. He had a few successes that got to his head that made him lazy and far too reliant on his fame. His decadence brought him to worship Nurgle which in return granted him the adequate mutation, namely the loss of his head (father Nurgle must have thougt he had already lost it long ago) and extra joints that made evry move awkward and vain. the tongue (not listed inthe mutation
From this point Phalless has tried to gain the consideration of his patron god but one on the path of Chaos rarely gets it when he most needs it but will always have it when he doesn't want it...

Everything you need to know is on the blog (should you wish to)

What more can you say, excellent work Niibl.

Nice Norse marauder there JB, I love the helmet fused into his body.

The shield is nice (in a Hellraiser chunks of flesh manner):
