since we're on this topic, i thought you guys might find this amusing, but i've purchased even more ridiculous things.
In my big project i posted, the Orc ambush, the Dead tree in the swamp holding up the wind Rider Eagle scout. Yup, i paid almost 10£ for a small box of them shipped to me. They were the right size, shape, nicely weathered, and had lichen growing on them. Lichen doesn't grow here, and i figured someone had go tromping thru a tick infested wetland and find this stuff, dry it out, list it, sell it, pay ebay, etc. I was worth it for me, and i still have some left.
The Ral partha Elf chariot, and the tree-beard scenes. That angular cut wood cross section plinth that they sit on, 12 pounds for 10 of those, all the way from China.
I needed 2 long , slender and tapered pieces of stone for an upcoming Bridge at Kazad Dum project. 2 pieces of petrified wood, tree branches, fit the bill. Again, 12 pounds delivered for the pair.
Zero regrets, i absolutely love that we have more choices today in terrain than we've ever had, both from shops and private sellers. How many of you remember back in the day when your only choice was this stuff that looked like a goofy-golf putting green?
