Where do people play?

remember nothing about Battletech
I should perhaps add that whilst I've not played the board Battletech game I've spent far too much time either playing MechWarrior (mostly v2 and v3) on the PC or sitting in the pods at Virtual World (in the London Trocadero basement next to Alien War). Good times ...

Middle Earth CCG is my favourite, ICE long before that movie nonsense. Beautiful art and intriguing narrative/themed gameplay that's not directly combative. I played a lot of Magic, still do when I can find a player that doesn't take it seriously (hard in the Magic scene sadly), but offer me a game of MECCG and I will get very excited. So long as I have a week to build my deck!

Sounds like some of you good people are into cards, at least tangentially. Since, as Oldhammerers, we're all probably of a certain age group, I assume some of us played a bit of CCGs? Perhaps during the CCG glut of '95?

Does anyone here still play their old CCGs, assuming you did in the 90s?

I was never into Magic, but played a few of the lesser-known gems (Mythos, Illuminati: New World Order, Star Trek (Fleer, NOT Decipher), amongst others). Making solo versions of old CCGs is one of my other gaming passions.
Yes to Illuminat:NWO. Was really the only CCG I played. Played Battletech in the original form. Played it several times when it was BATTLEdROIDS for those who remember.

I've never collected cards myself, but I've got some friends who did, and I've played with their decks from time to time. Mostly magic. I do quite enjoy card games, but the card collecting part is not for me.

That said, I understand why people do it. And I've enjoyed the games when I played them.
