Lovely! This figure was one of my first pack of minis. Got him ready to paint up as a Miner in my current TOW army.

I always have trouble with any flesh that isn't "monster flesh", no matter what flesh/skin-tone I try. So I sympathise with your Elf woes. You've done a great job on that one. The detail on the bow really finishes it off nicely. Golly what a sword, awesome work, really nailed the look.

So...
Motivation kinda remains high! I've not ever seen anyone paint the monster table for the Catacombs of Terror (although to be fair, I've not really searched it out. I will do after this!)

Old metal skeletons seem to be impossible to find and not lose a kidney over, so I've pumped for the Old World skeletons. They have been an absolute CHORE so far. The mould lines are unrelenting. I still have nine archers to assemble, but this is what I have so far.

There is more, it's just not prepped or anything yet!

There's a lovely barbarian sculpt there too - tab says 1985

Here's some terrible pinning and milliput.
The necromancers sword, hopefully that holds it's so thin to pin!
The book is pinned and the gap filled
The dread King has a pin all the way through him so that he can be pinned to the seat
The seat is missing the footplate(?) but you can barely see it when the king is sitting so I just filled the space with milliput and superglue. This helps stick everything together too! Skulls help fill the space

I have pinned a sword before and it can be a real pain and probably not worth it when there are other options. Still, nice job repairing and patching up.

Not to want to be.. erm.. comments, but while it's not ALWAYS the case as I have seen some good ones, for some reason, I always found alot of old metal skeletons were.. less then ideal. I don't know if I've just been ruined by the Skeleton Armies box set, but metal skeletons that bony often look bad to me.. maybe cause the bones make it too hard to spin-cast where the modulator nature of the plastics made it easier to get the bones right. Maybe it's cause them plastics were probably 2 upped when sculpted.. hard to say.. well, hard for me.

I do love the throne from that set but prices have always been out of what I'm willing to play.. more so as I don't have Warhammer Quest, never played it in my life (though seam to have a number of plastics building up not a huge amount, but a number.. probably cause they reused soo much) to think of much to make it worth it anyway.

I was very lucky when I recently brought my WQ from eBay, as it came with the Catacombs expansion (no box though). The lister had mistakenly posted the thumbnail image as the catacombs box, so I presume everyone thought it was just the expansion, and not both. Always pays to read the description!
