Want to use Dwarf Allies? Guess again…

Yep, in 3rd edition no army can field dwarf allies. You read that right: none. No that isn’t the surprising part, no one noticing is. At first I was like, “this can’t be right” but sure enough it is.

I scoured the web checked sources and looked for errata. Nothing.

So a cool little find hiding in plain sight for decades.

Oh and once folks read this? I imagine muttering “that can’t be right” as they shuffle over to the shelf.

Trust me, it is. Don’t trust me? Read for yourself :)

If I'm not including Mercenaries, Norse are debatable cause they include many dwarf types but not technically as Allies but as Dwarfs rarely trust non-dwarfs, why would they ally? Mercenaries, sure, but to trust one enough to ally? what am awful Idea to trust some tall thing with no beard!

Not an issue in 2nd where Norse, Empire & Woodies could take stunty allies. Though why you'd want to is beyond me.
My best guess is they lifted it from 2nd and somewhere along the way it got missed in production and they never bothered to check which armies an ally unit can be allocated to. Add in the short shelf life of 3rd and here we are.

I think I get what you are saying, but to confirm you did read the blog post and what I found?
yep ^_^ I remember there was something I read about some of the 'cut content' in 3ed... but I can't remember where.. probably an interview with Bryan Ansell or something. I knew something had been mention before but couldn't really remember and personally.. I don't really play Dwarfs so never played too much attention ^_^; I think alot of people knew it but didn't realise it. very small subtle difference ^_^ still, nice work
