twisted moon's 2026

a bit of a slow start to the year, but i have been working on some sci-fi gubbins.

Sci-fi medley3a.jpg

another staircase from blotz, and ammunition / toolbox from the goliath truck i painted last year, and some more walkways made from coffee stirrers, card and car body mesh. it wasn't until i'd finished my last turn of the 5pfh campaign that i recalled i'd made a couple previously, but i managed to find them again, so i now have six of the longer, thinner ones.

Sci-fi walkway1a.jpg

the shorter wider ones are designed to allow me to connect the stairs to the roofs of some (most?) of my buildings.

Sci-fi Tower1a.jpg

i also stopped procrastinating and got this tower done.

Sci-fi Tower1b.jpg

the structure has been sitting painted for some time, while i tried to decide what to turn it into.

Sci-fi Tower1b.jpg

i'm not absolutely certain what that is.

Sci-fi Tower1c.jpg

perhaps a communcations tower of some (almost certainly illicit) sort.

Sci-fi Tower1d.jpg

expect to see it in future games of 5pfh.

thank you.
connie and blythe, the boyl 2019 exclusive miniature.

Dwarf Connie& Blythe1a.jpg

painted up to hopefully complement both my kaiser- and anschlusszwerge.

Dwarf Connie& Blythe1b.jpg

she'll join lastro lupinthrall as a baggage guard.

thank you. he's quite a bit bigger than the colony 87, but then so is hermesind.
another tin can silo to add to the sci-fi scenery.

Silo2a.jpg

the sign is corex board with a (cosmetic) coffee stirrer frame.

Silo2b.jpg

the tap is a plastic bendy straw attached with a lump of milliput, and with a random (non-wargaming) plastic wheel from my bits box.

Silo2c.jpg

it's hard to see, but there's a hatch on the roof to allow the silo to be filled ...

Silo2d.jpg

... with everyone's favourite sci-fi soft drink.

Colony '87 is a bit on the slighter side. Love the bendy straw and the valve wheel on that! :) That's a lot of Slurm. Nobody drinks Choak anymore? In honor of the most successful local soft drink and Colony '87 I might have to make up a sign for '87-Up. Nice work!

some additions for my punks.

Punks7a.JPG

near future mercenaries from checkpoint miniatures (picked up in their january sale) and olivia neutron-bomb.

Punks7b.JPG

olivia is, of course, the 2017 boyl event miniatures, although a (perhaps not identical) resin printed alternative can be obtained from 3d kingdoms 'from the pages' range.
she's a threefer, as she's a contribution to femuary, and i've also posted in the show us your boyl models thread.

i've made a start on my golfag's other ogre mercenaries. i picked these up at the very tail end of the '80's (or possibly very early '90's) when games workshop had repackaged their regiments of renown in hard plastic shell cases (i got mengil manhide's dark elf marauders in the same sort of packaging). that makes these the oldest, and longest owned, unpainted miniatures in my collection at present.

Ogres1a.jpg

the one on the right, however, is a resin (printed?) sculpt i was given at boyl. i don't know it's provinance, but assume it's supposed to be an orc. given that my goblinoid forces are (oh so close to being) complete, and his size, i decided he'd make a good shaman for my ogres.

Ogres1b.jpg

i'm intending to have all my ogres in a single unit (hopefully, of twenty), and to that end have stripped all but two of the non-Golfag's that have seen (rather eclectic) paint.
i saved my two favourite paint jobs and am using these as the template for the rest.

here they are, still needing basing.

they're unlikely to be going anywhere in a hurry, that's for certain.
i need to pick up another three. anyone able to suggest some currently produced ogres, in a similar size and style, available in the uk?

Few suggestions:
