there's nothing adult about toy soldiers.
some fresh recruits for my punk gang. a colony 87 street punk (i picked up the blister at vapnartak) and the necromunda hive scum box with the most suitable heads.



i had another go at tartan trousers, which i think was a little more successful than last time. i might try a base of white with red and black lines next time, rather than black and white over red.



i need to come up with some names for them.

the second half of the savage german warriors blister and the remaining figure from the shattered lands ratman command set.



that one will be joining the clan skryre warrior pistolieros.

The rat's tail looks very . . . interesting . . . in that particular context. And yeah, spot on about the tartan trousers. Lovely challenge at that scale and well done. I need to paint that miniature. I . . . uh . . . it may have to be plaid. Said it elsewhere, but well done!

here's the crew, along with a diehard miniatures droid, from the goliath truck reimagined as a space wreck salvage team.



the turret gunner has been given a new lease of life with some prosthetic legs; presumably he's had a run in with a genestealer. it's lucky the medic was close by.
given the symbols they're wearing, there might have been some mental, as well as physical, trauma from that particular encounter.



they all have stargrave heads; the middle one has arms from the underhive scum box; the left arm with first aid kit on the rightmost is also from a stargrave kit.

life has been busy and so it has taken rather longer than intended to bring this to the forum.



... but i have finally made a rat tank for clan renj.



mine's based on the original iteration of the empire steam tank.



the crew compartment is mostly made from card, with the measurements roughly judged from the orignal empire model.



the wheels are from a doomwheel with wooden skewer axles, they attach to the body via a choc ice stick, the periscope is from a plastic straw, the gun is a plastic pipe and the icon is a banner topper.

i've been making some preparations for lead and steel. as well as sorting out a gang for my first ever game of necromunda from my jokaero buffoonery, i've written a scenario for a wfb2 skirmish in lustria. it will feature the lustrian cut-throats vs. some C30 and See Thirty Amazons.



to that end, i've based up the cut-throats. i also made a swampy travel mat from a spare piece of textured wallpaper, and some islands to go with it.



the islands need some more work, but that will have to wait until after the convention.
the scenario calls for a couple of small boats. it turned out i hadn't painted the second ainsty casting trade goods 2602 model in my possession, so i got on with that too.



not sure the scenario will get played tomorrow, but you never know.

^It's good to see the Cut-Throats out and about and seeing them traveling through the swamp will make it even better. Bravo!

due to a logistical failure on my part, it didn't run in the end, but i'll mock some action shots once i have a chance to finish the islands.
