Scenario 2: Flight from Loren Forest
Scouts reported the approach of a great Empire host, riding hard towards the Grey Mountains. Fearing they were about to face an Imperial crusade the orcs of the mountains have fled eastwards into Bretonnia… through Loren Forest! The elves of the forest will not tolerate such foulness in the heart of their woodland realm and have surrounded the camp in the night. No orc may be allowed to leave!

Orc Objective:
Get as many models as possible off the board via any edge.
Keep a record of each model which escapes.

Wood Elf Objective:
Kill as many Orcs as possible.

Any orcs which make it out of Loren Forest occupy the attentions of the Bretonnian Border Patrols, allowing Kritoffe Earlee, Kemler's apprentice, go about the land secretly raising powerful allies.
If less than 25% of the orc army escapes there is no effect on the final scenario as the Border Patrols are able to discover and stop Earlee..
If 25-50% of the orcs escape the Undead force in the final scenario may include Kristoffe Earlee, level 15 Vampire.
If 50-75% of the orcs escape the Undead force in the final scenario may include Kristoffe Earlee and a Zombie Dragon.
If 75-100% of the orcs escape the Undead force in the final scenario may include Kristoffe Earlee, a Zombie Dragon and three level 5 Vampire Knights.

Scenario 3: Guns on the Run
The dwarves of Karak a Kapow have pledged their fearsome armoury to the Empire emissaries riding to overthrow the Lichemaster. Unfortunately their arch-nemesis, the night goblins of the Leering Lune Cult and their neighbours the Clan of the Grinning Visage, have chosen just this moment to launch their all-out attack on the hated stunties.

Dwarf Objective:
Get as much artillery as possible through the goblin line and off the board.
Keep a record of each model which breaks through.

Goblin Objective:
Get inside the fortress, killing as many Dwarfs as possible on the way.

Any dwarf model which escapes from the opposite board edge may be included in the final scenario, on the Empire side.
Each piece of artillery has a pony to pull it. The guns can begin the game limbered or un-limbered. They may not be fired whilst limbered and may not be moved without limbering. Limbering or unlimbering a gun takes one full turn and requires at least two models (do not have to be crew).

Scenario 4: Valley of Doom
Ever since his embarrassment at the battle of La Maisontaal, Gnawdoom has sworn to have his revenge. He has spent his time gathering what forces will still follow him and plans a covert raid into the monastery from below, hoping to steal the Arca Chaotica and the Mechanical Warrior, thereby robbing Kemler of his power. As they make their way through the mountain pass towards a secret tunnel they encounter a rival force coming the other way. The Bourgeoias have also felt the draw of La Maisontaal and want its treasures for themselves!

Screenshot 2024-11-11 113910.jpg

Chaos Objective:
Move as many units off the board from the Skaven edge as possible, ensuring one of the Bourgeois is among them.

Skaven Objective:
Retrieve the Arca Chaotis and escape off the board with it.

A skaven unit in contact with the tunnel entrance at the start of the movement phase can enter the tunnel. If they remain off the board for one full turn they can reappear on the following movement phase with the Arca Chaotis.
If the Arca Chaotis is retrieved and taken off the board by either side then Kemler loses 10 Magic Points in the final scenario.
If at least one of the Bourgeois leaves the battlefield on the skaven edge then the Estalian Inquisition in the final scenario will have a separate objective.

Scenario 5: Food for Fought
Nobody knows better than the halflings of the Moot that an army marches on its stomach, and the one set for La Maisontaal has a lot of stomachs! The grain harvest is underway to prepare for the siege, but a host of ogres and trolls have been flushed out of the mountains by the goings-on there and are also looking for their next meal…

Screenshot 2024-11-11 113910.jpg

Ogre/Troll Objective:
Acquire as much food as possible.
Sheafs/Hives - 1pt each
Halfling Peasants - 2pts each
Sheep/Pigs - 3pts each
Cows - 4pts each

Halfling Objective:
Protect your livestock and fellow citizens.

An Ogre or Troll model can pick up plunder by being in base contact with it at the start of the shooting phase. Each Ogre or Troll model can carry a maximum of two sheaths/hives/halflings or one pig/sheep/cow at a time. Any model carrying plunder and hit by an attack (even if the attack does not wound) drops one item of plunder. This item may be picked up immediate by an attacking model in close combat if they choose not roll to wound.
At the start of the halfling movement phase any farm worker may be moved 3” as long as they aren’t captured. Any farm worker within 3” or a pig, sheep or cow at the start of the halfling shooting phase may shoo it 5” directly away from them. Animals shooed and workers moved off the board are safe from being captured.
Note that only Halfling Militia count as enemy models for the purposes of Reserve Movement.

If the Trolls and Ogres combined steal more than half of the plunder then Empire troops end up on half rations and suffer -1Ld and -1Cl in the final scenario.

Scenario 6: The Battle for La Maisontaal
For many months after the sack of La Maisontaal by Heinrich Kemler no word of the deed escaped to the north of the Grey Mountains. As the Lichemaster began to grow his undead hordes by raiding highland villages the rumours began to spread of a terror in the hills.

Witch Hunter Ivan Hellspring was returning from a pilgrimage into Bretonnia when he heard of the disappearance of Duke Tancred and his entourage. Tracing their likely route and finding the wrecked homesteads along the way, he eventually came to the ruins of La Maisontaal and beheld from a distance the horror squatting there. The Witch Hunter galloped rapidly to Talabheim to confer with his peers, hoping to raise an army from Talabecland that would care enough for the fate of the monastery to rid their patron god’s shrine of the necromantic heresy.

This is the army that has marched to La Maisontaal to confront Kemler in a grand battle before the abbey gates.

Tremendous scenario development and obviously it played out nicely. As we see from our blog entries!
