The Lost and the Damned

Using the mummies with the GUO is an idea worth stealing! The group came out great.

That group of JG ogres is outstanding as well. Very nice use of vegetation on the bases!

Thanks all for the comments, very much appreciated. To me this GUO has been a bit of a surprise hit; I liked the models I chose and the positioning of them, but wasn't overly happy with the paint job. I think perhaps the colour choices and cool models hide the subpar painting!

The Path of the Lost and the Damned:

Count von Brocinmeir, weilding his warhammer and riding his trusty steed.

Fighting the enemies of his realm, but succumbing to a blow from a Plaguebearer's poisoned sword

The Count on his knees and missing a limb. Papa Nurgle shows an interest in our hero and pays a personal visit

And then it's a pretty swift path to the position of Plague Knight of Nurgle (the cliche of a lost limb becoming a tentacle and the honour of having a Chaotic face on your shield is apparent here). Even an angry Nurgling as his first follower...

And the conversions I made to get there:

I've completely neglected this thread of late, I've been too busy with my blog and facebook, so there's quite a few missing updates. So to revitalise it a bit, I've taken photos of most of my Lost and the Damned efforts so far in one, scenery filled series of photos (the photos aren't the best, it was pretty dark yesterday and t'was a pain in the arse to light them all effectively):

Loads more to come as I turn these into full units and then into a full army...

Amazing army, something to be proud of! The photos take me back to looking through the old books, studying all the figures, guessing where they are from and how they've been converted.

Cheers all, many thanks for the praise, much appreciated! There's a whole load more in various pipelines.

Firstly I want to complete an entry for each possibility in the Lost and the Damned retinue table (specifically I have the following left to do: D4 harpies, D8 Skaven, Dragon Ogre, D4 Cultists, D8 Mercanaries and D4 Minotaurs)

Then create a usable Nurgle Chaos Allied Contingent including Chaos Dwarfs and their weapons of destruction, plus Centaurs etc

Then finally a full Nurgle army using the army lists from the Lost and the Damned book itself. I'm especially looking forward to creating the cavalcade and the diseased flagellants. Much work but also much for me to look forward to.

They may well be looking at me funny, but I can't see! The joy of being able to express my innermost geek here and feel entirely comfortable with it!

Looking really good, What's the next addition to the multitude?

All the best

Paul / Golgfag1

Here you go Paul. D4 Cultists plus the Warrior or Magus that could lead them. Some classic Oldhammer Disciples of the Red Redemption with an iconic Jes Goodwin Chaos Warrior and a characterful masked sorcerer. The banner is a freehanded copy of Bob Harvey's illustration from Fighting Fantasy's Talisman of Death =- loads more info on the blog:

Eventually I'll add these to a load of kitbashed plastic flagellants to create a unit of Diseased Flagellants; think of the illustration in the LatD with bells, banners and lots of Nurglings...
