Squats

Looking excellent, loving the Iron claw ones too. You don't see many of them painted up..

Have you considered a dark wash? It may help define them a bit more.. Devlan mud (or whatever its called now) is great....

I know I could take the painting a step or three further, and that's something I will definitely consider a bit further on-I have the devlan mud era wash set (I use ogryn flesh on their skin) so duly noted.

On the iron claws, pretty sure it was on one of orlygg's blogs that he was commenting on how he found them sort of difficult to paint due to the nature of their sculpts-sort of all nobbly and ridged (I know what you're thinking Chico :mrgreen: ) and even though he was talking about the fantasy ranges (dwarfs in particular I think) I definitely found that.
 
Looking good, I have the chaos versions to do for my renegade warband, though I do have a lot of squat plastics I could mutie up. Love the trikes. I have to agree on the Olley scuplts being difficult to paint. I do like his undead, but the cloaks and folds and pouches and robes and...

Seems Ive been caught up on Goffs the past few weeks, so painted up the last of my trikes last night...working on the rest of the support weapon crews now

Support crew are done (grrr cockeyed pistol stuntie) and getting there with the exo warlord.

Nearly finished another warrior squad...then back onto the painting challenge :mrgreen:

I was expecting this WIP to be shorter...

Ha! 2d6 pun damage for everyone.

Those are some good looking squats. They are really coming together nicely. I've a friend who lives pretty far from me, but I'm still hopeful that one day he'll give up and give me his squats. Not a likely hope, the nostalgia runs deep. Heck, he had an older Keeper of Secrets that was mine and must have been left with his stuff twenty years ago. When I found it he had trouble parting with it... and it wasn't even his!

The closest thing I have to a squat right now is the White Dwarf limited figure where he is a Demiurge with a mechanicus backpack arm thingy.
 
Cheese guys, I plan to do something more to their visors at a later date too.

Chico: besides the trike riders and ancestor lord I only have one guy that needs plastic arm(s), the guy with an arm in a sling.
I intentionally avoided the metal/plastic hybrids because of the hen's teeth nature of squat arms and the generally high ebay prices.

IG: sounds like you need to put on your shopping hat (balaclava) and pay your friend a lil visit :twisted:
Just joking, the Keeper Of Secrets sounds nice!
