Been lacking in updates lately so lets change that. Been busy painting away and got a few units completed or nearly completed !

First up is the 2nd chariot but first goblin one

The eagled eyed among you may have noticed that I've changed the dounce hat back to a traffic cone.

Finally a work in progress. Ever since I started collecting this army I've been thinking what to do about the lack of a musician for my boar riders and I think I may have found a nice fun solution.

Originally I was thinking of trying to convert a dual weapon orc into a drummer but then this lady appearing on ebay and price wasn't insane due to damaged arm and thought she could solve my problems. So today I've been removing the pom poms and attempting to sculpt some hands for her. Long way to go and still have to work out some drums for her but its a start.

Cheers.

So got some bits in the post today so been able to mock up the complete musician. I think I'm going to have to dremel away some of the boar fur to get the drums to sit correctly so with that in mind I think I will change the boar for a more common version that way if I cock up I've not destroyed such a classic model.

Might be easier to modify the drums? They are easier to repair if something goes wrong or to add fur made of green stuff around them to close any imperfections.

I love this idea! (And Loose Loser has some great suggestions.) All that said, I'm excited to see this progress. I have a feeling the finished product will be truly stunning. :)

Painted up command group for the goblin unit and finished the boar musician. I had a look back through and realised it was in 2018 that I first mentioned the need to find a model to turn into a musician for my boar riders so got there eventually !!!

Oh my!

Really enjoyed catching up with this thread again. What a bunch of nasty shits? I thoroughly approve of the traffic cone hat and the tubthumping 'lady' on the boar had me in stiches. Pure genius, mate.

Cheers for kind words.

I think of her as the leaders wife coming along to make sure he's not having too much fun !!

So on to the next member the standard bearer. For this I'm taking inspiration from WD106 article where they introduced a new regiment of renown Bratt's Boar Boyz. Always loved the article and this is my chance to try and recreate it.

As you can see I've made a couple of changes firstly I hate painting blue its a real struggle for me so switched to red and secondly I decided to make the top bronze instead of whatever it was in the drawing.

That is an amazing miniature rescue, A+ on execution!
Plus you end up with a very interesting/unique character that will most likely always be on the front row. ;)

The general of the army is actually her 4th husband, and the 4th general, all 3 others were savagily beaten by the next husband to gain the control of the army.
Her low tone voice and slightly misaligned left eye is key to her charm and gives her this position of prestige... "Gherda, the siren of Gork!"

Thanks for comments.

Managed to complete the boars riders and couldn't be happier with the results especially loving the drummer as it works so well and already got plans for the next unit. So here's a few photos of them and already started work on the next 5.

That's going to be one heck of a unit of boar riders when you're done. I love what you're doing with them. The banners really did come out very well, as well as the drummer. And I love the selection of reinforcements. Looking forward to this! :)
