(Skaven) Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Mason

Vassal
The best place to start posting pictures would be my Mordheim warbands which feature plenty of Old Lead in them.

First up, the Marienburgers.

The men of the Posenhosen trading company travel through a ruined building in the remains of Krappefortt (my Mordheim setting)...

Old 'Umphrey, the other Champion of the warband. A perpetual frown is always covering his place since the death of his son, also called Humphrey.

The rest of the Swordsmen (old plastic as opposed to Old Lead, but added for completeness sake...sorry if they offend)

The first of several warbands that feature Old Lead.

I do hope Mordheim is allowed.....

Re: My Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

I believe Mordheim is not only allowed but actively encouraged!

Good stuff all around, but I must say Van Posenhosen's skin looks brilliant in particular

Re: My Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Great paint job. Nice to see various old and not so old metals and plastics next to each other.
PosenHosen??? I love that name as a German the old school Empire names always make me smile......

Re: My Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Wonderful! I love the mix of old and new...lovely model selections and the painting is very eye catching :)

Re: My Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Thanks, chaps!

As for thr Posenhosen name: It was a silly twist on some of those ridiculous names from the 80's referring to the way that Marienburgers are considered to be the wealthy types for Mordheim.

Loose (awful) translation is 'Flashpants'....not of German, obviously, more of a Blackadder Prussian.
;)

I shall post the next band up tomorrow if I get the time.

(Really glad that no-one has objected the mix of old and new... )

*Krappefortt being the setting for our Mordheim campaigns.

Re: My Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Love the names, "Krappefortt" lol. They look great on there - looks like something i would have drooled over in an old WD Eavy metal section. Really nice overall look.

Re: My Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Thanks, chaps.
The silly Not-German names are a bit of a feature of our Mordheim gaming.
Well, silliness is a feature regardless of acent.
;)

If you haven't seen it, there's a rather behemoth thread over at LAF detailing Krappefort:

Nice to see you here Mason. =)

Thanks, phreedh!
I see quite a few familiar faces in this neck of the woods.

Cheeky bugger!

Righto, thanks for the responses, chaps.

Here is another warband, this time from Nordland......

Firstly a group shot of the entire band

A couple of closer shots of the group. These show a couple of views of the Henchman groups. In this warband there are only two types of henchmen- Warriors armed with Halbards and Marksmen armed with Handguns.

A close up of the Captain, Dietmar Uhlenbeek, and the two Youngbloods, Corporal Hartzmann and Ensign Kurtz, affectionally known as 'Boy'.

A shot of the Captain by himself.

I love this figure, from the old Eternal Champion range by Citadel,- Smiorgan Baldhead, and had to include him in one of the bands.

A close-up of Ensign Kurtz, the 'Boy'

The rumour that 'Boy' is really a halfling have never been proved! Just because he is short and round with hairy feet is not what he calls 'proof!.

A close-up of one of the Sergeant's, Schweinhammer

And finally, the other Sergeant, Ballstein

That is it for the 2nd Nordland Expedition (Krappefortt), who are scouring the ruins of the town, trying to locate any evidence of what happened to the 1st Expedition who disappeared during the last campaign.

Re: My Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead (Nordlanders)

Nice work Mason

Good to see you here also!

I'm still waiting to see you paint the C21 Undead Cavalry for your LotR army (or perhaps I'm being lazy and missed them on LAF...?!!!)

Looking forward to more of your 'stuff' old chap ;)

Cheers

Gary

Your Smiorgan was shamelessly used on my blog in my top 10 most wanted miniatures list a few years ago. Great to see him again, it's a fantastic mini with a very nice paintjob!

Hello Gary,

I shall be getting on to those at some point next year.
The entire LotR project hit a brick wall when I realised that I had to finish the damn cow town.
That will be sorted soon and I will be free to get on to some new projects.
LotR will be one of those, along with OGAM, spy-fi and my Slann project.

I am really looking forward to tackling them.

Cheers!

One of my favourite minis of all time too.
I have gotten hold of Tanglebones recently and just need a suitable slot for him....maybe on my salvage crew, I think he will work just fine there.
;)
