(Skaven) Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Re: My Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead (Nordlanders)

Mason,

Your structures are quite stunning. I've been slowly working my way through the thread over on lead adventure. It's a head turner, top to bottom. Very very good work.

Re: My Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead (Kislevites)

Thanks fellas.

Time for another one,

This time it is the turn of the Kislevites.
I spent a whoile collecting these figures as I wanted a proper 'old skool' look for my Kislevite warband and thought that they more recent sculpts look a little 'uniform'.
This was the result...

I am sure that you will all recognise these great little '80's classics.
:grin:

I did not have time to paint them myself so I sent them off to another LAF member, Pil, to colour them in for me.

I think he did a wonderful job.

Re: My Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead (Kislevites)

Really like those Kislevites, lots of great characters in there, and the shield patterns give just the right ethnic feel.

Re: (Kislevites) Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Awesome! Really, really great warbands. I can't even pick a favourite.

Re: (Kislevites) Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

That display board/terrain building is quite spectacular, might have to try my hand at one. And the kislevites paint job really brings them all those unique miniatures together as a unit, great work!

Cool :razz:

Re: (Kislevites) Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Waaaaay too good, Now I'm fed up with RT, I want fantasy warbands ! Just like those.

Re: (Kislevites) Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Beautiful. This inspired me to finally prep a bunch of these same minis for the painting table.

Re: (Kislevites) Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Thanks, lads.

I shall try and get another warband posted up soon, but am at BLAM over the weekend, so maybe next week.

Re: AW: (Kislevites) Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Great to see your stuff here as well Paul, still a Fan. Especially of those Kislevites, after Dwarves one of my Favorit Factions. Great Stuff!

A right mix of the old and not so old in there...

I did the conversions, made the shields and bases and Pil coloured them in.
I then completed the bases when I got them back.

Re: (Beastmen) Mordheim warbands featuring Old Lead

Nice warband. Great wrk on the bases.

Never seen the guy in the left in the last pic before, Is it a conversion?

Thank you, chaps!
The bases were pretty good fun to do, all kinds of bits and pieces went onto them.

Thank you.
Although I do keep looking at that Shaman and thinking he do with a rework of sorts.
That is the problem in digging out old stuff: You can get distracted from what you should be doing.... :?

Just Skaven, Elves and personalities/hired swords to come...

Oh, too right. You dig through your older "finished" pile and think "Well, that was a nice idea, but if only I'd . . ." used inks at the time, had green stuff, had this sword I cut off this other fellow, had this other oddball color I picked up last week . . . "He could have been golden freaking gobbo." Oh yes. I've had those moments. And I expect I will have MANY more.

All the time, mate.
All the time....

Time for the Skaven.

These were my first Mordheim warband .
The basic plastic figures were bought on ebay to get me started and slowly replaced over time with better older models, but some of the original stuff remain as I have not had the time to get around to replacing all of them.
As you can see, most of the paintjobs are fairly basic, quick jobs to get them on the table.

The White Klaw Kabal!

Leader of the Kabal is the ratman known by his enemies as The Master, accompanied here by the two Night Runners, litter brothers and runts of the group, 'Itchy' and 'Scratchy' Stilletto;

Next up are the two tough guys and elite monsters of the band, the Black Skaven known to outsiders simply as 'The Warrior' and 'The Enforcer.'
These two are like a whirling maelstrom of destruction, armed with fighting claws and a set of skills and upgrades that make them a match for anyone in Krappfortt;
I had quite a bit of fun making and painting these, but did not notice the mouldline until taking the photo....D'oh!).

29811003.jpg

The final 'hero' of the warband is the Eshin Sorcerer known as 'The Hex,' accompanied here by his famililiar 'Fleabag.'
(He is the third Sorcerer to have joined the Kabal, the magic-users of this band do not seem to last too long for one reason or another!)

29811005.jpg

Next up are the various warrior groups that make up the bulk of the band, the ever expendable Verminkin;

29811010.jpg

29811011.jpg

(These were all the original ebay purchases, the only thing I did was add the various bucklers/shields).

The final group of Clanrats are armed with spears and captured shields and form the bodyguard of the 'Master;'

29811006.jpg

Following along in the wake of the band, devouring any scraps left by them are the mutated Giant Rats of Krappfortt;

29811009.jpg

No band of warriors of the Underworld would be complete without the services of one of the fearsome creatures bred by Clan Moulder, the Rat Ogre!
Known simply as 'The Monster', it usually leaves a trail of destruction wherever it goes;

29811012.jpg

Finally, a group shot of the whole band....
