Rescuing an undead army.

Old WFB

Hello,
I have been sorting through an eBay rescue I recently acquired. A whole army box of classic Skeletons (minus the box) for £50.
I have seen these for £170 to £225, so I was pleased.
However, they do do need a bit of work to reanimate them.
I have; 40 foot with various handweapons.
10 archers.
8 mounted knights.
1 chariot.

I have added some heads from the Skeleton heads box and I am going to use some empire knights parts.
I need some glue first.

That is a decent job.
I always worry about ready assembled models as being fussy I suspect I will want to re-pose them, which I suspect is a PITA.
But more the point.
Check out those Thugs in the background!!

Thanks. The glue on the skeletons was either almost absent or caked on. Only 1 Knight needed a time out in the freezer to break the bond.
The biggest PITA, was that absolutely no clean up of mould lines and where various bits were taken from the sprue. I have been tidying up.
I plan to sculpt saddles, reins etc.
I have had fun starting the kit bash with Empire Knights bits and bobs.

You noticed my little thug collection. They are pretty cute. Some photos to follow as I progress.

super glue is more brittle in low temps, so you can use it to brake it, though the plastics on these are a bit.. brittle at times anyway.. it doesn't remove the superglue or affect where it has bonded though. but it's possible with cold temps and some little work to just remove the super glue mostly from the surfaces.

The Skeletons on foot are now assembled and primed. The knights have saddles, but are awaiting reins.
I have 10 Skeletons to model as summoned, so this will include a few rising from the ground.
The chariot is repaired and the archer regiment are built, but awaiting quivers and belts.
The problem is, my work space is a tad full.
I have now finished my Mongolian Orc archers, after painting a hero and a banner bearer. I am just finishing the movement tray. They can go to my garage shortly.

both but that thug one is really nice ^_^
Thanks. A relatively simple conversion as the dude was holding a club. Quick snip, then a chaos knight lance for the pole. The impressive hair had to be partially re-sculpted to cover up my snipping.
Not sure if the big skull is a dragon, demon or xenomorph but it looks like it lurked in the chaos wastes.
